Poll: What would you like to see next from Square Enix?

Chapter 11 bankuptcy. I kid, but I was never really into Square Enix games. The only one I even remember playing was Super Mario RPG, which I question the RPGness of, so I guess I'd go with a sequal to that, not that it'll ever happen.
More Fantasy, less Sci Fi.
Machines are boring, even when they're made of two sexy women twined together uncomfortably.
Also: Drop the aggressive female main characters. I'd rather a story focused on another mute teen with spiky hair or teeny-bop girl with enough cheerfulness to kill a seal. THAT'S how much I hate sooky women who can only be tough by being bitchy.
And because this bears repeating: Machines are boring. All those days spent lovingly creating patches of rust and glowing propulsion rings do NOT result in wide-eyed awe.
You can build a world without there being a war between countries we neither know nor care about.
Interchangeable party leaders: I like it. Adds an element of freedom. But make it clear who the story is about - even if you tell all their stories in clearly separate segments. FFXII had me wandering between characters so much that I ended up connected to none.
Other than that, I want what everyone wants: New and fresh ideas that we haven't thought of yet but are guaranteed to enjoy. No pressure.

I'm confused. Wouldn't they have to build a world, interaction system, control system, battle system etc anyway for a new game? So the cost could be said to be about the same, but with less chance of loss due to abandoned half-done concepts and more promise of return due to solid fanbase?Celtic_Kerr said:

That's the problem though. You can't make a facelift without revamping the entire game. And as the article that was written said (can't fucking find it!) Square Enix would basically be forced to toss money at this thing left right and centre to please fans. THey wouldn't have much freedom with it, so they have a better chance with a com,pletely new game since fucking up with a FF VII remake would iritate fans ALOTVondeVon said:

Call me over-cynical, but I find it difficult to believe that any large company cares about fans over money. Whatever they made, people would flock to buy it. Even if they soundly flamed it afterwards for being a cheap glossy knock-off. I'm one of those idiots with more money than sense and five different editions of 'Advent Children' to prove it!
Personally, I think it's inevitable. The combination of their slow re-release of old games and the sheer cash cow FFVII has proven to be will get some executive some day to give the green light.
Remake FF7. They can try remixing the music but they absolutely must keep an option to use the original soundtrack. Just update the graphics and fix a few glaring translation errors (This guy are sick, et cetera) because that tech demo was just one big tease.
And if they find success in that, do the same with 6, 8 and 9 and then put the series to rest because ever since they merged with Enix it's been god-awful.
