Fuck strangers.

Sure the data/ memory of games isn't important, buta human life, one of a stranger no less, means absolutely nothing. Besides mortality is outdated and over population is already a problem.
Mortality is outdated? What did you mean by that?

OT: I'd save the stranger. Progress in games is not worth a dime. You can always get back to where you were, and if it wasn't fun doing it the first time, then why were you doing it?

This is not as morally questioning as the guy you took notes on. saving all your gaming data or a humans life is an incredibly easy question to answer and if it is not then I think you would need to go to a psychiatrist.

While in the last thread I chose my pet, I would definitely choose the person over my game memory. Dude that's just petty.

If you have to ask that question...

Or if you for a second thought a persons life isn't more important than a video game...

Yeah, I rather be known as the achievement nobody and the hero of someone I did not know, their friends, family, kids and anyone who witnessed it.

Than be the man forever know round the world and the net as the half played game, xbox & sony achiever but I let a human being die to save my fake nonexistent trophies and awards.

Least being known for saving someones can get me laid, the other would insure anyone who heard of me would not sleep or tell everyone around them who i am not not sleep with me.

Beside what if the stranger is a hot gal, or hooks me up with one eh?

You say there would be no punishment...bollocks. There would be something, somewhere someone who would make my life worse if they can.

I'll go with being a human being with a soul and save the poor chummer. I can get all my DDO/game stuff back in time.

Person. My PS3 just broke and I've lost all my files, saves, and recorded TV shows. this has happened before and I was no where near cut up enough to kill someone to get it back.

Would I still remember playing those games? Because THOSE memories are important to me, but even if I did forget somehow that means I could play "The Darkness" with a blank slate and not know the twists.

I'll save the poor stranger. Quite a no-brainer.
yeah pretty much this, everything that you mentioned which would be lost can be regained, a human life, not so much. well if i know a little bit about the person and they turn out to be a complete **** ill kill them, but im assuming otherwise.

i guess im a bit biased as im still young and have time to re-do all of my gaming experiences, for older people i can kinda understand how this would make them pause and think

stranger, however.

1 - he better be grateful for it.
2 - he better know how to use a controller because he'll be helping me boost my new accounts :D
A forced friendship. I think he'd choose death, given the choice.
Nonsense, if you just saved his life that makes you instant pals!

This was inspired by that guy who did the one about saving your pet or a stranger, i won't deny it.

I've put i new twist on it, though, but this one will test your nerdiness! EVERYTHING YOU'VE WORKED ON in your gaming life, all your memory, gamerscore, acheivements, money spent on subscriptions, WOW account etc etc etc, ANYTHING that you've ever done in gaming, will be lost if you save the stranger, remember this is likely to be what you've spent most of your life doing and spending money on.
But, if you don't save the stranger, you will keep all of your gaming gains, but forfeit your (assumably) stable consience and reputation. In other words, you might feel bad for it, and everybody else knows you did it, but are not punished in any way.

So what will it be?
When you say memory, do you mean my actual memories of having played the games or just my save data.

If my actual memory would be removed I'd say fuck the stranger, if it's just data ut's a massive loss, but still preferable to losing a human life.

Video Games, I'd save the guy. But the Tabletop as well like my D&D, Warhammer, and Magic: The Gathering? Good luck buddy. I'm keeping my playsets of Tezzeret (the new one) and Jace.

My reaction would depend on whether I would lose my copy of the game, or just the save data...I have some old games I'm rather attached to.

Even still, I would probably save the person over the games...Pet over the person though. I don't have enough faith in random strangers to be that selfless.

assuming I wouldn't lose the games I had already bought, then I'd be totally fine with losing the saved games. I can always replay them.

Well honestly since it's a stranger I would keep my game accounts. That may make me sound like a dick but I am not wasting years of my life to save someone I have never met. Plus I have no faith in humanity and for all I know I could save this person and he could turn out to be a rapist or something.

Posting from my phone, so I'll try to just kind of summarize my point.

Morality stems mainly from two things, religion and the belief that human life is somehow sacred. The first was necessary to organize separate nations to prevent a mass extinction from infighting, as well as explain phenomenon that couldn't be explained otherwise. The second reason stems from both religion and a draconian need for people in a tribe.

I'd like to avoid being overly inflammatory with this, but most of the need for religion has been phased out, but it as well as its lessons, or definitions, of morality and sin remain.

The second was phased out by rapid population growth. Should one person it

Out of six billion die, nothing changes. Should one person out of twenty die, shit could go down.

My phone breaks the escapist.
