I just realized how incredibly long both of the movies titles are.

"Star Wars Episode 7 The Force Awakens"

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"

Anyway, what do you think made more ripples online? I personally thought that the B v S trailer was underwhelming, since half of it was people we don't even know talking while someone takes his time in turning on the lights. I hate Superman, I think he's dull, boring, and repetitive. But that didn't prevent me from rolling my eyes at the reveal that he's the "bad guy" this time around. Again. Some guy on YouTube noticed that at the part of the trailer when those men in the corridor bowed down to Supes, the uniforms of the soldiers were eerily identical to those of the soldiers in Injustice. Even seeing Batman's new costume was a big "meh". He looks cool I guess, a bit on the heavy side. What I want to hear is his Bat-voice. That's what really sells him.

The Force Awakens however, filled my stomach with little nerd butterflies. The new Stormtrooper armor looks great, even though I was skeptical about the helmet at first. The practical effects look great as well, the CGI is great, and it made me squirm in my seat. The new Battlefront trailer sweetened the deal too.

Edit: 95 percent for Force Awakens? Damn, I feel bad for DC already.

I am going to assume Star Wars because, well, nostalgia is playing a major major part. Han and Chewie sold it with major fan service. I do like the Batman v Superman trailer because of the tone its giving.

Nostalgia wins Bob_McMillan and I will enjoy both... even though I am not a Star Wars fan but I will give it an open shot.

The Supes versus Batguy trailer was horrible. Superman never worked as a bad guy or dark. That movie's going to be terrible.

Um... could someone post the SupermanvBatman trailer?

I'm searching for it, but all I'm getting is fan-made frankentrailers and a veritable tidal wave of gibbering fuckwits who seem to think the world really needs to see them pull REACTION faces.

Watched both with my best friend, and I think what he thought overall pretty nicely sums these up: Star Wars is going to be a cultural phenomenon, BvS is uuuhhggggggh...

But yeah, Star Wars looks like people with love for the project put in insane work for it, whereas BvS looks dull and confused, trying to get in on the Marvel cash cow without understanding how or why it works so well.

Can I be that guy and say they both look really boring?

Good, because they do.

Batman V Superman, apparently DC and Warner Bros are still afraid of anyone having fun, get ready for yet more grim dark totally serious we're making a point you guys. They really need to sit down and watch the whole DCAU series from Batman TAS all the way through to Justice League Unlimited and Batman Beyond, they were really good at having fun and being serious.

Star Wars I admit looks exciting, but whenever I think about it and see JJ Abrams smiling smug schnoz staring out from under that 'I look a bit like Spielberg in this thing' cap. Super 8 and two Star Trek movies have made me armoured against him, he's like the EA of directors, promising everything and delivering amazing trailers followed by throw away junk.

Actually I take it all back, Star Wars by a mile, because I'm terrified that JJ's going to bollocks it up.

I plan on seeing Batman v Superman upon release day. Star Wars looks pretty appealing too but after watching the trailer I don't really feel like I need to see it right away. Man of Steel was incredible in my opinion, so I'm looking forward to this new story unfolding. Superman is an obvious favorite of mine, with Batman coming in second. Being a long time fan of DC, I have been quite pleased with their super hero adaptations lately, so I have good faith that their latest film will be entertaining.

Star Wars, on the other hand, was never really at the top of my list, even way back when. Growing up with the classic films, I never saw a reason to expand the story. I felt like all was resolved and peace was brought. Not a bad note to end on I would say. I mean, I guess I see why they want to expand the story, I just don't really know why they have to.

Either way, I'm looking forward to seeing both films in their entirety.

As trailers go I felt more excited by the star wars trailer, JJ Abrams seems to have successfully modernised the old Star Wars style without the artificial taint of the pre-sequels.

However I think the Superman one is VERY interesting simply because of all the non-typical superman movie designs and tropes that are in it.

Star Wars had too much teased
At least it left me pleased
BvS made me question it
Hopefully it's not shit

Other than that, BvS needed more "teasing" cameos... Make that editor for that teaser trailer earn that paycheck with pride, dammit!

He's not the bad guy. Its just the world around him is cynical... VERY cynical about who and what he is. Like how our world is cynical about so much things. We fear the unknown a lot. That's our human nature.

Yep, pretty much.

They could do dark storytelling and make it work. Heck, Nolan showed us that. The sad thing is that their idea of dark is juvenile. It's the reason I can't stand Frank Miller, and it's the reason I DETEST Zach Snyder.

Eh. The grim-dark bullshit from BvS has put me off of it. Almost like it's ashamed of being a comicbook movie.

Force Awakens actually has colour, and has an emphasis on adventure.

The Force Awakens by far. It's shown us the Sith Lord character in his/her entirety, it's shown off more awesome locals, it's colorful, it's bright, it's got fan service and it's just done a fantastic job in hyping me up for the upcoming movie. Superman vs Batman was somewhat confusing thanks to all of the cuts and scene transitions. The Wonder Woman bit was awesome but the trailer on the whole just seemed really gray and dark. Iron Bat could be neat but I couldn't tell if that was Afflec getting into the mecha-suit or Eisenburg getting into some Lex-Corp armor. The allusions to Injustice: Gods Among Us (all four words used in the trailer) seemed a bit confusing too but also disappointing because watching Jared Leto or, Margot Robbie come in out of nowhere and start beating on Jason Mamoa would have been freaking awesome. Batman V Superman comes out next year anyway so I'm positive there will be better trailers later on this year and early next year. For now though, I can't wait for Force Awakens to be the best thing in Star Wars since...I dunno...pre-release Force Unleashed.

one more thing: If Batman vs Superman eventually leads to the reveal that the Justice League movie is actually a Justice Lords movie...I fucking called that shit.

It was only after watching the trailer did I realize how recognizable Ben's lips are. But, Star Wars actually makes me interested in watching the damn movie in theaters.

I just watched the BvS trailer. To be honest, the longer the trailer went on, the more and more disinterested I became. I didn't have big expectations to begin with, and it started off promising; then at about 00:30 seconds in it just went down hill.

I just don't get how DC have have such great animated movies, yet fail so hard when it comes to their live action ones.

Speaking of Mark Hamill, Star Wars doesn't look bad. I will definitely see it when it comes out, but there has yet to be anything released that has gotten me excited.

Star Wars, easily. The fucking narration alone sold it. Batman vs. Superman? ZZzzzzzzzzz
