Poll: Whats with all the drugs?

Seen too many people close to me fuck up their lives over drugs (Weed or Cocaine in this instance) for me to ever want to indulge.

Everyone does 'drugs'.

Today's definition of 'drugs' or 'narcotics' is so loose that you can call almost everything narcotics.

Hell, even food can be called narcotics by today's definition. Today's definition is: "Narcotics are what we say are narcotics". Then I call food a narcotic, it affects the brain and body through carbohydrates and amino acids.

The body is filled with hormones and chemicals that help us survive. Adrenaline is one of the most powerful drugs you can find, and is produced naturally in the body.

If Tetrahydrocannabinol can be called a 'narcotic', then chocolate, caffeine and the much more dangerous alcohol and nicotine are narcotics as well. Chocolate even contains Anandamide which is almost identical to THC.

It's all about choosing to ingest the harmless 'drugs'.

I don't regularly but I have done drugs. Many different kinds.
It's all about having a different experience, whether to relax whilst listening to some tunes or sit in the corner to trip the fuck out and gurn your teeth away.
I don't need to have drugs to have fun but when I'm in the right crowd then it can give a different spin on it and make for a unique night.

Ok so to the people who do it. Whats so fascinating about them?

Anyone that finds them fascinating, is either doing them 'cus it's cool', or because they have a problem. Either way, you should be concerned for them.

Alcohol dissipates a person's inhibitions, unlocking a more carefree and fulfilling experience, while I find that weed calms everything down and mellows the group, allowing for a nice chilled out atmosphere.

As for hallucinogenics (I'd like to try shrooms), or stimulants, I assume they just serve to add to the experience further. However, I'm not willing to take anything harder. Call it personal preference.

I avoid and therefore haven't had any drugs of the illegal kinds, although I have had legal prescriptions and may have had caffine at some point.

I do not have alcohol very often as I say dumb enough things without drinking any.

Well I only smoke weed, it's not fascinating but it sure makes everything else seem to be.

i have done drugs ome i prefer more than others i can see why people dont want to do them.But dont ask us what is good about them unless you actually have done them and i prefer good old alcohol.

As long as you're not a moron and get addicted to something like cocaine there's no harm.

No I've never tried drugs, I don't find them appealing...Or something worth trying.

I do not do drugs.

I will say however that I think it's self explanaitory. They feel really good to use, which is the entire point, and it's also a counter-culture revolving around them and their use because of the fact that society in general frowns upon them.

It's hilarious how this thread is full of people who say "I don't see what's so fascinating about them, either though I haven't even touched them with a ten-foot pole". I mean, really now.

And no, I've not done drugs, but I'm not going to see that I don't see anything in them. If I read what drugs've done to some person's life, then I'm all against them, but from what I know, I bet trippin' on acid is one helluva fun ride.

Because if you even LOOK at weed you're instantly addicted to it and braindead. Duh.

People seem too have this insane belief that experimenting with drugs automatically ruians your life and leaves you living on the street.

Weed never was en never will be my thing. Some friends of mine smoke it and sometimes I just take a few hits, but nothing more. I've tried it a few times, but it pacifies me to the point I don't like it. Thing I notice with some heavy weed smokers is that they tend to get paranoid after a few years of that stuff.
Shrooms on the other hand are my drug of choise it's just like a mental trip to zen-country and aren't addictive. Maybe the feeling you get, but frequent use (2 times in 2 weeks for example) makes the effect of it hardly noticable.
Never did anything more than that except for alcohol. Don't want any refined/synthetic drugs that could be made from things I have under my chichen sink.

Nothing's wrong with a friendly drink with some mates - not that I ever have had the experience being under age and a little more concerned with TEE right now, but I have never done drugs - and I don't think I'm missing anything by letting this particular opportunity slip. In fact I think I'm sort of waving it on by merrily as I skip into the sunrise of academics and a stable life.

Smoke weed pretty much daily unless I'm on short supply or out completely.

Snorted coke once (wasn't anything to write about, I was expecting a lot more)

Drink rarely, not big into alcohol, just can't stand the taste and the way it effects me allows me to get about 30 minutes of drunken fun, then the rest of the night I wanna lay down and pass out.

I'm often too drunk to do drugs. Besides I don't like touching stuff that looks funny or might do something that I don't absolutely need - I don't even take aspirin.
