Ok, if you tried watching it and didn't like it then I'm not gonna argue that. It's obviously not for everyone. But, "Honestly, I think most people actually dont watch/like the show and just want to follow everyone else." is where I disagree. There is a UG on the Escapist with 190+ members in under 2 months. All of whom watch and enjoy the show.

I constantly see people acting like they like something merely to be like everyone else. So it is not far fetched to me that a mass of people would promote something so much but actually not really like it.

And honestly. I am sick of all the ponies. It may be my own inner hipster (I would be foolish to pretend I am not similar to one) but all the MLP stuff gets tiresome. But then, most memes en mass annoys me.

And yet.... hate threads like this probably outnumber actual threads praising it.

Edit: Ok, maybe this isn't a hate thread, but some are, and they bring the fans together better than any other.

Because all the fans converge on those threads and act like everyone has to like the show.

Well I beg to differ. I am a fan, I asked you for the reasons you didn't like the show, you presented them, and I let the matter be. It was said earlier, but we are not trying to overwhelm the internet here, and I have yet to meet an actual fan of the show who activly tired to force someone to like the show.

Well, not like Im saying I am being attacked for not liking the show. All the people I am arguing this with have been polite and understanding. On that note though, there are a bunch of you that I am defending my dislike of the show against.

Maybe because it is. Im not saying some of you dont like it. ince you are fighting me so much, I would believe you to actually like it. But I do think most people are simple minded and herd like. I see it too much to think otherwise.

I can agree with that, and if anything I'm not completely above it myself at times (worked in a bookstore during the entire Twilight craze. That was an... interesting time to say the least). Anyway, as I said I just disagree with what you said earlier and just put my point across. You tried watching and didn't like it, I can respect that and leave it there.

Because I've found that the real plot behind it is much darker than it seems on the surface. If you pay close attention, it becomes clear that Princess Celestia is a corrupt monarch who had been driven her so insane that she began to convince herself and her subjects that she was a Goddess among Ponies, and she established a class system based on race in which the Unicorns are the Upper class and the Scholars, the Pegasi are the middle-men who mostly just do everything that the normal Ponies can't, the Earth Ponies are the lower class manual workers and the Cows are the slaves. And the reason there are so few Male ponies walking around is because the majority of them were drafted into a bloody inter-dimensional war with the Care Bears.

Need proof that Princess Celestia's insane? She locked her sister in a moon for a thousand years for disobedience
I'm going to continue watching just so I can piece together more pieces of Equestria's dark, mysterious, twisted, mystical, past. Like why is there only one Gryphon ever seen, where are the others, are there even any others left, or did the Gryphon go the way of the Neandrathal, being killed off by another more intelligent, more agressive species, where do the remainders live, are they spread out in small tribes, do they live in other further away towns along with the Ponies?

If Princess Celestia's insane and not really the goddess of the sun, then does she feed her energy off of her subject's love and respect for her? (they don't say "Friendship is Magic" for nothing) and is she using Twilight and all of her other students to study Friendship just so her illusions can become reality, and she can become a real god?

Personally I find the animation and humor in the show to be refreshing compared to the "SUPER EFFING HARDCORESPACEMARINERABBLERABBLE" entertainment I've divulged in in recent years. I was looking for something more lighthearted and managed to find it.

I legitimately like it. It's the sort of thing that isn't really controllable, you just like it once you're into it. Watch episode 4 and you'll see what I mean.

It's as simple as the fact that it is a good show. I would say on par with Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Perhaps even better.
