And you base this assumption off of what?
Well, the target audience is females based on 90% of the cast being female and that they are expressly marketing the toys at women.

Well, I would base it off the premise, setting, characters, morals, diolague, lore, and pretty much the enitre show, but...
Ninja'd.

Doesn't mean 20+ year olds cant enjoy it just as much though.

I agree. Season 2 was confirmed.

[HEADING=2]YAY!!!!![/HEADING]

OT: I like MLP. Deal with it.
Season 2 isn't until December though. And there are only 3 more episodes left for series 1 :(

It is another fad that took over the Escapist like Panty and Stocking.
It hasn't originated, nor is it isolated to the Escapist
I didn't mean that. I am saying it conquered the Escapist just like 50% of the internet.
this right here. Is exactly where the image of the show starts to get polluted

When it starts to look as if it is trying to take over the internet.

We are not we are simply enjoying a new show, and if it seems like everyone around you is getting swept into it, that's not the case.

What I'm trying to say is (Im horrible at conveying feelings through text XD) that we are still all the same people.

Well like I said I don't knock anything. The show though was made to target girls and theres tons of dudes evidently "these Bronys" that watch it. I think it's totally off for dudes to watch MLP but I won't say you can't.
Well I'm glad to see that you aren't actively fighting it like so many threads that have gone before you. Still, I think you should give it a go and watch an episode before dismissing it. Who knows, you might just be a Brony yourself.
Well I'll try out the 1st epi. Cause I've never watched it, I don't know. I hope I won't become one of you 'No offence'. I hope that I've leased my soul out so I won't get sucked in.

And I don't mean with just with girls. I have several guy friends who are 17 to over 20 and like it. One of them draws em'. I don't knock it but it's a might bit weird.
So, really why do guys like em.
And adding on why do you like / dislike the whole thing, and do you think it's weird that some men (don't know how big it is) like it.
Slavoc, it is one of the better shows to hit television. It isn't too girly, it is something new, loveable, and so much has came out of it. I actually do enjoy the show. My girlfriend turned me on to MLP, and after seeing other MLP pages I had to take a look and I when I saw the Pony Effect 2 video I was hooked and went to the first episode to watch.

The show is actually something that cartoons have been missing all along, actual sensibility. Look back at all the great childhood toons we had like Ducktails for instance. It has humor, cleverness, and it is fun to watch. Lots of great things have came out of this on to the internet.

MPL's own AMV Hell [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIo0DDUoetA]
Polka power (Which was actually liked by Weird Al himself) [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhOlAU4t9Hs]
Pony Effect 2 [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqpyAlvyP3Y]

What can I say, a part of the internet loves My Little Pony. I joined them. The question is where you stand on it.
For me, it brings out the innocent child once again to play. Seriously.

I love how the first three replies to this question are all members of the group.

Kinda proves there is no shame in liking the show.

EDIT:
Man... pony thread just catch fire like they were drenched in lighter fluid and napalm around here.
What I find ironic is it's mainly threads like this ragging on MLP that cause the love and fans to swarm together. So basically haters are helping us!

It's funny, it's fucking adorable and it makes me smile. I don't need to justify myself for liking it.

I had that as my desktop background for a while. It is such a great picture.

Also: I think if it weren't called My Little Pony, there would be a lot less fuss about it online. It is just like people watching Spongebob, Foster's Home (which I mentioned earlier), or Invader Zim but the fact that it is loosely based off of toys that are for little girls makes it questionable.

So from looking at the show without experiencing it.

Also how are morals something that target women?

Its a meme. Honestly, I think most people actually dont watch/like the show and just want to follow everyone else.
Internet people love their memes...
Nope, it's actually a decent show!
I...
Disagree.
Assuming you have tried watching it, why do you disagree?
See my previous post for your answer. And yes I watched some of it.
Ok, if you tried watching it and didn't like it then I'm not gonna argue that. It's obviously not for everyone. But, "Honestly, I think most people actually dont watch/like the show and just want to follow everyone else." is where I disagree. There is a UG on the Escapist with 190+ members in under 2 months. All of whom watch and enjoy the show.
I constantly see people acting like they like something merely to be like everyone else. So it is not far fetched to me that a mass of people would promote something so much but actually not really like it.

And honestly. I am sick of all the ponies. It may be my own inner hipster (I would be foolish to pretend I am not similar to one) but all the MLP stuff gets tiresome. But then, most memes en mass annoys me.

You disagree that I disagree or you disagree that I think people are lying?
That would be with "People are lying" comment, especially in lieu of you stating your personal preference for the show afterwards. Granted, you didn't go the 'people are stupid for watching this route' (and I do thank you for that) but thinking that people, if you'll excuse the expression, are following the herd of the internet because you don't like it is mildly condescending.

Well, not really women, but that whole, "Friendship above all else thing" kind of has it's sights set squarly on the double X chormosome members.

I'd also like to add to that that 80% of pony threads, aren't started by us.
