I think if anyone's ashamed to let people know they're playing a specific game then they must have pretty bad self esteem or something.

Hell I'm shy and I still wouldn't hesitate to tell everyone that I'm playing Hello Kitty or something. Just earlier today all of my friends were roaring at their new Pokemon game while I was sat there playing a Sudoku game, it's no big deal.

Don't get me wrong, I love that pokemon is constantly changing (even if only by a miniscule bit). But I know they're running low on new ideas. Its only a matter of time before we see pokemon that look like appliances and clothing.

Hey, at least the unique legendary from White is pretty cool looking (you know, the black one, because: Customer is now confused! Customer has bought two games instead of one in his confusion!) But the other one looks like a transvestite hooker in a wedding dress.

In every generation it has been some Pokemon that looks like shit or so cute that it is almost wrong anyway if you think that it is girly then you have forgotten how fun it is the beat the shit out of a ugly,giant Pokemon with a small,cute Pokemon using cute attacks.

OT: I admit most Pokemon in this gen are Cute/Girly (Purrloin for example) but there is much Badassery to keep me entertained ;D

I do think that Pokemon has been leaning a bit too much on the overly cutesy side in recent games. We need more cool Pokemon: Put the MONster part back in Pokemon.

A good way to do so would be by canonizing Missingno., who is practically the Pokemon equivalent of Azathoth.

Come to think of it... many Gen V pokemon are "inspired" by Godzilla movie monsters.
(All of the above plus Gigalith, Leavanny, Scolipede... I can't be the only one noticing this)

I'm more concerned with the massive amount of base 125+ ATK and SPATK stats. This is an all-offense generation, it seems.

And I like taking Victini to the musicals. Giving him a little tophat, cane, and tie. Cute. And mildly entertaining.

I've been playing Pokemon Black for a few days now and i have to say that this is the 1st game that I've played other then Final Fantasy X-2 that I've been ashamed to let other people know that I'm playing. Given that the graphics are great, game-play is solid, rival fights are frequent and challenging, and gym leaders leave you with a genuine feeling on accomplishment... does anyone else feel that this game is a bit GIRLY?? All of the NPCs in game describe their Pokemon as "cute", "adorable", there's a POKEMON DRESS UP mini-game which precedes a musical, and to top it off, I currently have a flying pink blob covered in purple flowers as my psychic powerhouse. Tell me what you guys think.

Yhea, pokemon was such a boys game until now. Real men use pikachu, or vileplume, or goldeen, or evee and its evolutions, or gardevoir, how bout that Milotic? Yhea, thats a manly men lineup for men. Manly.

Pokemon sells mostly to girls in Japan so, yeah, it is designed to be more cute and girly and blegh. The days or Arbok and Seviper are gone from pokemon. But as a kids game and T.V. show they can't chase their old fans forver, they got to turn to the new generation.
