You know you're not the first person to do this
yes but mine are the started pokemon. not just random ones
Yeah but you switched from Charizard, the third evolution, to Mudkip and the 5th gen starter's first evolutions.

How about if I went and did this:

I like the Ice Cream. I mean. I'm not gonna use it. And it looks hilarious.

But there is another pokemon that gets a load of stick time and time again for it's 'lazy' design. Wanna know the name of it?

Voltorb. Electrode too. People have been complaining about that since Gen 1. (Even if it's purpose is to pure troll people. Like the Mimics in Dragon Quest.)

How about another one?

Seel. Yea. It's a Seal. With a letter changed.

Probably the manliest pokemon ever concieved. Besides, all generations tend to have a mix of pokemon of varying varieties, some done well, others not. I'm not bothered with any of the pokemon.

Yea, I remember when Pokemon was manly! with pokemon like Pikachu and Squirtle.

In all seriousness, I would never call Pokemon girly or manly at all. It's a game set in some kind of world where the only conflict or concern is apparently collecting small animals to pit them in fights against each other, but the animals are mostly cute and cuddly and supposedly deadly.

That said, though, the reason why I stopped playing after Gold/Silver was that the new Pokemon just werent as eye-catching or memorable as they were before. I remember looking at the new pokemon advertised in Ruby/Sapphire and forgetting about most of them after checking out the ad. The first 2 generations of Pokemon had great and memorable art design and naming- the first 150 especially. After that, I admit, the naming and the designs just seemed so... different than what I was used to.

I could be biased, of course, but I had a good time with Red/Blue and Gold/Silver. Would rather leave it at that and not soil my fond memories
Exactly this really. I haven't played for ages but if I feel like starting again I will look to pick up Fire Red or Heart Gold for these reasons. I like the new mechanics etc with Black and White but the designs do all seem to me to be rehashes of the old designs, and not memorable at all. This probably stems partly from the fact that I am not really a fan of anime and the original designs seemed to be a bit more western influenced.

Oh dear me. Does it make it better to curse like that at people? Dear, oh dear.

I don't think you grasp the concept of opinion, either. I don't like any of the new games. Done. Finished.

Okay? Okay.
..Yeah, the insult was a little excessive. My apologies, not a good night last night.

Also, fine. Whatever, agree to disagree. Yeah.

I admit havent purchased any new pokemon games since pokemon gold and silver. It seems pretty cool that nintendo would make and entirely new set of pokemon and only have those in b and w. It's understandable after some 500 pokemon the designs may start to look a little strange.

Btw, Justin Bieber seems like an alright guy. He does have a lot of money and babes. Haters gonna hate I guess.

Most of them look more weird or stupid than cute. The dress up, cutesie pokemons, and trainers constantly calling their pokemon cute has been around since the word go so I don't know why this is suddenly making you question your masculinity. It is, at its core, a kids game after all.

no insecurities here. :) Still enjoying the game because it is still one of the best games out there. Story, game-play, replay, social challenges, huge levels of variability, sustainability... its got it all. coupled with better graphics and a wi-fi community, i dare say it's a perfect game. I was just thrown off by the dress-up/ musical part.
btw, it might be fun to all post our friend codes while we're here see if we randomly run into each other in cyberspace.

Although I admit some of the Pokemon are pretty girly... So many others are so Badass that it compensates...

I don't really care though, I love them both!
