Red/Blue/Yellow for me... but thats mostly because I'm an oldie and thats the series of Pokemon that I grew up on :p

(to get an idea of how much of an oldie I am when it comes to Pokemon, you must understand that I was getting the card game before they ever came close to the Western market. I had the bloody things imported by my Japanese grandmother! I used to know the name of every 151 Pokemon [in Japanese, naturally], and remember a time when the abbreviation "Pokemon" didn't exist, and they were called "Pocket Monsters". Ah, good times... I don't go close to the stuff now, and gave away my rather large collection ages ago)

Definitely Gold and Silver. The best games in the series. Sadly even better than Soul Silver and Heart Gold. Back in the days when 250 Pokemon was more than enough...

Gold/Silver/Crystal, because I have so many memories of me and my cousin playing the shit out of those games.

HG and SS

simply because their is a wide variety of Pokemon and attacks, even if some of them are useless.

And my Rhydon, and Nidoking can learn Flamethrower and Thunder ^_^ which is always a shock for my friends who think they have already won ^_^

Red and Blue, because it was feasible to Catch 'Em All back then...

Calumon: Of course, Mystery Dungeon didn't even need to Catch 'Em all! But the combat wasn't that great...

I'm going to assume that Silver and Gold includes Crystal as well, which was the best pokemon game. Next after that is R/S/E, R/B/Y, and then the first Mystery Dungeons game.

I liked all the pokemon right up until Diamond and pearl.

But I LOVED the Kanto and Johto region pokemon. These felt natural, and the rest felt forced.

"Come one pokemon is getting popular! You have the next couple of days to think of any damn thing you can!"

I said Gold/Silver, mainly because that was when my innocent, pokemon loving heart still had vacancy for new catchable critters after Red/Blue. Pokemon after Gold/Silver got all lame.. at least in my opinion. Maybe I just matured up and couldnt accept additions to a game I now keep in my nostalgia file in my brain :3

Definitely the Sinnoh set (Ruby/Saphire/Emerald). It has the best music, environment and starters.

I think the Ruby ones. I just love them. My favourite starter of all time is still Totodile though.

Why are HG/SS and FR/LG options? I thought the sets of Pokemon in them were unchanged from the originals except some different availabilities and frequencies of the Pokemon.

OT: Red/Blue, can't beat the originals, nostalgia of youth and all that.

Assuming by 'Gold & Silver', you're including 'Red & Blue'.

Plus, there aren't any differences between Gold/Silver *HG/SS*. :/
