They'll stop when new Mario games stop coming out. So, when video games finally slowly bleed out and die. (I see bad things happening in the semi-distant future).

I think everyone as made their thoughts so sorry if I take it. I said other because it makes money and they will never stop anything that makes as much money as FF series does. Also I think it will end when everyone gets nuked in game or in real life.

This actually brings up an intresting point that the FF series is complained about by people who have either played 1 or none. Because they aren't Sequels in the sense they are related to each other at all. They are games with their own worlds, plots, characters, myth etc. They could easilly come up with a new name every game and it would still be the same thing, Final Fantasy just makes damn sure it brings in the customers.
Only partially true. Keep in mind that elements like races (moogles, chocobos, cactuars, all the summon monsters, etc), classes ([insert color here] mage, etc), and the like are carried over.

those are elements to a game, some games don't use them, some do. Besides those aren't races those are monsters, I mean I get what your saying but cmon thats not enough to say it's just copy pasta.
That's true. Nobody stays hooked on Final Fantasy just because they have "teh moogles." That'd be pretty shallow. I can only speak for myself, but the reason I'm staying with FF for the long haul is because, as Onmi pointed out, they make a different game every time, setting it in a different world with different characters. The similarities between the games are purely superficial.

Shitty series never die.

Our grandchildren's children's children's children will get to enjoy the sheer thrill of taking turns healing yourself and hitting bad guys. Hot damn.

Then the weaker minded ones will draw anime characters with big ridiculous sword that are OMFGSOCOOL and think they're actually good artists.

Simple; when it's no longer profitable.

They picked up on a good formula here - using the name of a franchise associated with well-liked games, while not actually having any link between the different numbered FFs. Final Fantasy is really just a label used by a company to name their games. Most other companies would have just given all these RPGs different names, but by keeping the Final Fantasy name alive, they keep a core fanbase.

I don't think of Final Fantasy games as a series, just as games made by the same company with a similar style of gameplay.

I already think that some of the stories are reapeating themselves a little.
FF12 reminds me far too much of FF9.
But i do agree, once it stops becoming profitable for them then they'll probably stop.
But there will always be new people discovering the final fantasy series, so i think it's going to be a loooong time yet before they wrap things up.

Indeed. I look forward to watching my grandkids playing Final Fantasy 43 in my son's flying mansion.

(yes my son will have a flying mansion, because I will raise him to be awesome damnit!)
