I don't really know it when it will end. Although I don't see their being another modern warfare game.
But another Modern Warfare? I don't think so. They'll have to come up with something new or a new twist on something old.SwimmingRock said:"When it stops making insane amounts of money." I am genuinely surprised that is not an option in your poll.
Nonsense, everyone knows that sci-fi will alienate a large portion of CoD's fanbase. It has to stick to slow, incremental upgrades and near-future military tech at most.EverythingIncredible said:I don't think it will end for a long, long time.
But as far as when the series finally loses dominance, I am guessing about 2 or 3 years.
I am REALLY hoping that Treyarch is working on Future Warfare right now. Because that would get me to give it another shot.
Seriously? With MW3 breaking day one sales records, MW4 is all but confirmed.Professor James said:I don't really know it when it will end. Although I don't see their being another modern warfare game.
Given its current rate of sales, that's probably covered by 6+years/never.SwimmingRock said:"When it stops making insane amounts of money." I am genuinely surprised that is not an option in your poll.
There can be other call of duty games besides the modern warfare series. And it would be kind of hard to another MW4 becausefix-the-spade said:Seriously? That's the thing. And not just ex-soldiers. Alot of people treat it as the closest thing to real-life military service/real guns/etc. CoD gained more fans than it lost with the shift to Modern Warfare and its lowest-common-denominator appeal. The large portion of the mass-market who play it for that reason wouldn't play anything like Halo.EverythingIncredible said:And the transition from World War II to Modern didn't?Octogunspunk said:Nonsense, everyone knows that sci-fi will alienate a large portion of CoD's fanbase.EverythingIncredible said:I don't think it will end for a long, long time.

Then again, you may have a point that it will alienate those gun obsessed military marine people who just play these games to use the weapons they used in real life at some point.
