I'm usually all philosophical and "Eye for and Eye makes the whole world blind" but in cases like this... set those fuckers on fire mostly because...

When i'm older i'm definetly moving from my country to somewhere safer like Norway(I heard it was voted best place to live). The things that has happend in the UK has disgusted me and we are not civilized when it comes to our youth.
Good choice. you are well inforemd (or read Urban Dictionary) because Norway is wonderful. Being half Norweigan myself and having visited many times I can say that it is a fantastic place. There was also something funny on the news in Norway once. It stated: (Something like) BREAKING NEWS, a bike that was stolen a month ago has now been found. Considering the news of murders we hear every week in England I could not help but laugh.

Back to the story and I have to say that that was barbaric. Those boys needed longer and harsher sentences. I am 15 and I say the gouvernment should be stricter on kids/idiots who are my age or younger.

Also, how many people laughed while reading that? Am I just really fucked up for laughing?
Yes. Yes you are.
I only laughed because it reminds me of the time i accidently burnt some of my friends skin off with an airhorn...
What the hell were you doing with an air horn that you'd burn your friends skin off?
Oh and my opinion of the laughing at that thing....yes, yes you are fucked up.

Well, we'd never used an airhorn, and i thought we needed to shake it first... I did, and this foam came out of it and hit his arm, apparently it gave him frostbite. It was a funny experience, and that reminded me of it and made me laugh

bad parenting like this is why I'd have no problem with the government restricting who can and can't breed.

We should pay more attnetion to the children's influences. But adults should get off their arses and do something about it, rather than just bleat on about how the media is corrupting them, or violent video games are making them evil.

Video games are rated, and even without ratings, anything over PG is supposed to be watched by a parent first, just to be sure. Take the time out of your day to maybe watch one of the movies they watch, or sit and enjoy one of the games they do. My parents made an effort to understand the movies and games I watched, and while they didn't get it, they made sure I wasn't turning into a psychotic.

The impetus here is more on the adults than the children. The change has to come from them.

personally, having read this no less than ten minutes ago, I can say I'm beyond any words that can describe what I've just found. For the youth in our country to reduce themselves to psychotic, ill-tempered barbarians is nothing more than the lowest form of trash I've ever known. I thought youth violence after columbine was bad, but this is just blow it all out the window and takes king turd on shit island. Having said my own opinion of this, I want your muses on it, has our youth gone to far with emulation of their environment? Or is this a desperate plea for us to pay more attention? Could it be both? Comment as you please, and keep this discussion civil.
i have read the article, and it is sad and disturbing, but that doesnt mean we should monitor our kids more. these kids either had a fuck up childhood or are fucked up at the core. just because THESE kids decided to lite someone on fire doesnt mean every kid will do it.

I fail to see what the poll question has to do with the article. It sounds like this was part of a pattern of behavior for these boys, it wasn't some random act of violence.

I agree, and I think the lack of burning 15-year old smell in public places is proof that we're right.

Damn straight. The future of Britain raised on the dole and will probably die on the dole as well.
Most people on the dole don't want to be there, despite what you may see in the tabloids.
Exactly, well said. I'm on the dole and I certainly don't want to be there! I graduated from uni this summer and therefore have a degree, but what choice do I have but to claim Job Seeker's allowance? It's not like there are many jobs out there for me to get, degree or not.

Those 2 kids who killed the toddler, ooh.
And the other 20-odd cases of kids doing seriously stupid things.

Do you have the death penalty there?
No I'm not saying you should kill them. Just make the DP llegalized to give them something to fear.

Man...at least in America if it really came down to it you could kill a person in self-defence if you had to. Over here you could still get put away...that's as far as i'm aware, by all means correct me if i'm wrong.

The point i'm trying to make is that these days people are far too lenient towards kids and when i say people i mean strangers, not parents. We see more and more groups of kids aged 10 or so going around being the little shitbags they are and getting away with it.

I mean i remember when i was that age and me and my friends would be intimidated by and respect people that were around twice our height and age. And then about a month ago i nearly get arrested because some little kid kicked a ball at me twice and i wouldn't give the ball back the third time he done it.

Apparently the parents thought that was grounds to call the gardaí(I'm irish you see)and tell them i was assaulting their kid
