The beach, which reminds me of summer. Which reminds me that it is not summer it is winter. Which makes me a sad panda.

That but, without the weapon, I'm not sad.

Why the books of course! If you don't think of the books or the games than you aren't a nerd and should be left in the middle of the dessert with no stillsuit and a single thumper to attract your death.

Professor Xavier, obviously. And then salt and vinegar potato stick things.
What? I watched Dune, and ate some salt and vinegar potato sticks.

I think of Dune 2000 [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_2000], the first RTS I ever played.

Good times, good times.
Exactly. The game. Dune 2000. Good times.

I would probably think of actual dunes, if English was my first language - but since it isn't, and the only context I've ever used/heard the word used in, is the game, that's my answer.

The fucking worms in the sand were annoying, but other than that, it was an awesome game.

When I hear 'dune', I think of this game. Dune 2: The Building of a Dynasty. The one Westwood game that almost singlehandedly started the RTS genre in 1992. It had amazing depth, fantastic music, voice acting, even a storyline.

P.S. See the Palace selected on the screenshot? That's the Harkonnen superweapon, Death Hand. It's a nuke, but you can't target it, you only point it in a direction and determine the time before detonation. In the later levels all you needed to do was build half a dozen palaces, protect them with a row of missile turrets and enjoy the apocalypse.

The books, for they are pure gold, one of the best book series I've ever read.

Who controls the Spice, controls the universe. Until Bene Tleilax synthesizes Spice, of course.

The books. My brother's a Dune nerd. Scratch that, he's just a nerd in general...
