From Canada.

Like it because it's like America, but without the scaremongering.

EDIT- OK SO THAT WAS PROBABLY A BIT TOO HEAVY-HANDED

What I mean to say is that the Canadian media freaks out about little things less. The closest thing to an overreaction I can think of would probably be the non-stop 3 month long coverage leading up to the Royal Wedding.

UK, more specifically Scotland and I guess I like our uh...History?

I can't really think what I like about Scotland, where I am there is still a conflict which was only relevant in the 1700's, everyone seems to think to have fun they need to get on the ground sick drunk, I can't go out at night without fear of being attacked, there is a good bit of ignorance yet I guess I still like this country and what it could be.
Exact same here. I think it depends what area you're from, though. I hate the cities and big towns (not including Edinburgh), but I do love the North. The islands too. Very pretty.
How dare you insult my home town of Glasgow. This is the cultural Capital of the world steeped in history and other awesome things.Ok no I can't say that with a straight face but despite the fact that we have ridiculous amounts of knife crime, binge drinking, teenage pregnancy's and shitty weather I still wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
And poverty! Don't forget the poverty! And the secterianism! And the football violence (mainly caused by secterianism!). But it is still a very nice city. It has the Glasgow Science Centre thing which is very lovely.
Actually I don't think there is much real poverty yeah some people aren't that well off but there are very few people that don't have roofs over their heads and food on their tables. However I definitely agree about the Sectarianism that's one of the worse things about this city and this country actually.

With the poverty I would like to point out that at some point rececently (not quite sure if it's true right now) one area of Glasgow was the most deprived area in Western Europe (I'm presuming Western Europe means areas West of ye 'olde Iron Curtain). But I stand by that it is a nice city, stark contrast to Edinburgh as well, a lot more modern.

We win!

Suck it, Arctic Circle residents and members of Oceana!

Seriously though, the poll names the 7 continents and then says "other: specify." So, in the spirit of, whatever the Hell that was, I'd like to change my answer.

Other: the Moon.

I was born in southern Russia and now I live in Virginia, US, which is southern (but not deep south) United States. I get called out in both languages for having a southern accent.

Not sure why there's all the hate for America. If it's so terrible, why has the rest of the world been trying to move here for the last 300 years? Ah well, I'll get back to polishing my gun, eating bacon, and driving a big-ass SUV.

Portland, Oregon, United States, North America.
My city is the best. Good art, good music, good coffee, good beer, good parks, good hobos, good donuts, good rivers, good hipsters. It's all great.

Well, okay, that's 65% of the city. I live in the eastern 45%, which is a wasteland of shabby houses, shabbier apartments, gas stations, convenience stores, and strip malls. Oh, and strip clubs. Gross little strip clubs everywhere.

So that kind of blows. Fortunately, it's a five-minute bus ride to the non-shit part.

North America, USA. Specifically near Bethesda, MD. Where Bethesda Softworks started.
