I don't mind killing anything in games, but I will only kill animals if they agro.

Innocent people, children, I don't mind killing, animals are the only ones I have a little trouble with.

I feel bad about killing innocent animals, but not animals that are trained to kill like the dogs in CoD. But even they make my heart a bit heavy.

Funny, I find it alot harder to act like a dick and choose the arrogant dialogue options in games like Fallout than to just kill them.

Well, I kill coyote puppies in F:NV and I feel like a monster afterwards, so it's strange.

That being said, I play as a sniper, so if it wasn't for the little red ticks saying who was going to attack me if they saw me, I'd be murdering people based solely on their dress code.

... I felt disturbed by this revelation.

Of course I try to minimize casualties in any game I play, so here's where I draw the line:

If they're attacking me/ will attack me, need to die to advance the game, or have done something that disgusts me, I consider it open season.

If given the choice to let someone go, I usually do that rather than kill them. Also, I try not to kill any random people. Its just unnecessary. The only time I have ever felt bad about killing someone was in Bioshock 2, when I had to kill Big Daddies to get the Little Sisters. There they were, minding their own business, harvesting ADAM, when *BAM* Delta shows up and kills them. Why is my quest to protect my Little Sister so much nobler than theirs? Those guys are the only ones who know exactly how I feel, and I kill them because I want to have chain lightning rather than normal lightning.

No housepets. Admittedly, in some of my Fallout rampages, I found myself shooting at children since the little bastards were running and screaming for help from the big men with guns, but that was more an autopilot thing. Just don't ask me to shoot kittens/non-rabid dogs.

Why Postal 2, why use the kitty as a silencer?!
Would it make you feel better if I told their their making a 3rd postal...
I suppose, as long as teh kittiez n goggies arr spared. Release date?

from your header: Usually on paper silly person.

To the actual question. They're just polygons. Unless it's an emotionally effective game then I may leave some of them alone. But still....

no kids. Although I'm not so terribly opposed as to say it would never conceivably happen.

There is a time and a place for everything. Even irl.
Nothing is inherently wrong.

However, the qualification here is "a time and a place" .. the act has to be (relatively) reasonable in context.

If, for example, someone stole a nuke and is about to blow up London, and the only way to find out where he's going is torturing his family ... well, context, greater good and all that.
Also, someone may have to be prosecuted for the decision regardless of its necessity. After all, rules are rules ... still, context.
Even the guy who stole the nuke .. there's a time and a place for that kind of thing .. if he knows there's a zombie plague about to get out of control.

But .. there's such a thing as poor taste.
Graphic depictions of torture being among them.

Anyone who has ever nuked Megaton should have no problem killing kids... at least in games. Now whether or not they can do it up close, that's one thing. Me, I let the character decide.

I have a hard time killing "good" NPCs. For example, the NCR in Fallout New Vegas. I always feel like a monster when I kill them.

I drew the line in GIMP.

OT: Depends how I role-play.

-Being morally evil, I form a plan to manipulate others to my liking. Everything and everybody that gets in my way of this goal will be ousted. My character is one that wants to watch the world burn.

-As a morally good character, I don't like fighting in games. If there ever is a talking and debating choice, I'll take it. Even if you are my mortal enemy.
Sometimes things get rough and I have no choice but to defend myself from an opponent. I only attack if provoked with an attack of their own, and when that happens heads will roll.
No-one deserves to die.

I mainly play a morally good character, so I chose "Can't kill innocents" for the poll.

I can't kill Artificial intelligence programs or robots that have anything resembling some sort of emotion or feeling.
Even if they want to kill me and show no remorse in doing so.
...Portal was hard for me. D=
