I think the path behind the rock is nr. 2 on my list. I haven't had it that often, but when it does happen you might as well have backtracked the whole level in search of a passage, while you were there a while ago anyway. Quite annoying, but I usually don't lose to many time over it.

I usually don't mind the game autosaving when on low health and ammo. It poses a bit of extra challenge for the coming few minutes, and really drives your gameplay to excellence. Sure, sometimes it gets nearly impossible, but trough trial and error, you can be quite sure you'll make it, and it'll feel awesome afterwards.

The levelling up does not apply to me, at least I haven't witnessed it...

Ah and point and click things... Man I had some frustrations over that. When I was younger I used to manage the patience, but recently I had to use a walkthrough or throw the damn game of my PC in frustration. Definitely number one on my list.

All of the Options are annoying...but i think most of the time i get lost.

Problem is, i get lost in game levels easily, even without sight blocking rocks :(

Hmm, not sure how many people will remember this (Or Care for that matter). But I love Final Fantasy 9 and its little wonders, but the only part of the game I really hated was the Kuja level.

It's where you had to be Regent Cid (Who was currently a frog) and use him to grab a key in Kujas lair.

Problem was. The key was being guarded by a hedgehog monster who was stuck in a cage. Which forced you to play a stupid mini-game that only helps prove how useless and cowardly Cid really is.

In the mini-game, you had to push the 'O' button rapidly, forcing Cid to slowly (Incrediably so) walk towards the cage, freezing everytime the damn hedgehog turned around. If the monster spotted Cid moving, then the monster would scare him off and you'd be forced to do the whole damn thing over.

This wouldn't be so annoying if the damn monster didn't get TRICKIER when you'd be less than a few clicks away from the precious key,so you push that button like mad once the beast turns back around, only to have the retarded animal fake you out and quickly turn back around again and scare Cid off for the FOURTH BLOODY TIME IN A ROW!

Did I mention it was timed TOO?!

GRAAH!

. . .Everytime I look at my disc, I'm just reminded of that infuriating level and I lose my interest in playing it as quickly as spotting a Killzone game. . .

Auto-saving cause the timing is just bad.
Fallout 3- Auto saved on a bridge and i kept falling through it when i reloaded.
- Auto saved when i was literally stuck on a toilet in lamplight caverns (i think) because the game never registered me landing on it so i couldn't move.
Halo - Auto saved when i was in a warthog going off a cliff at full speed. Luckily when i was about to reload the level it went back a checkpoint to let me rectify the mistake.
COD W@W - Auto saved when i had a few grenades surrounding me, on the second last level on veteran.

Seriously, there can be serious issues with auto saves at times.

Ninja Gaiden (Xbox) saves. Really, the savepoint before the fight with Alma has to be the worst savepoint I ever encountered. I never finished the game either because of this. It's not a nice save right before the (bloody difficult) bossfight, it's a mile away from it. Here's the deal:
From the savepoint, you have to swim quite a distance, then go through a mini cutscene to ride an elevator. From there you have to fight three enemies (who spawn conveniently out of the view of the camera) that throw incendiary shuriken (ninjastars that blow up when they touch you) and are probably the toughest enemies till that point in the game.

The worst thing is, you have to beat them without getting hit because that's all the HP you're gonna get for your fight with the boss who's after that. Not any boss, but arguably the toughest boss in the game. Yeah.. Go Ninja Gaiden.

Unskippable cut scenes just beore a boss fight. Then you die and have to watch the whole cut scene again.

I know what you mean, once I got stuck between some rocks and it then proceeded to auto save so i couldnt even load it back to when i wasn't stuck

Usually I'd find a way around most of these problems but auto-saving at an inconvenient time can be annoying and frustrating....

Like in Half-Life 2: Episode 2, I was in the Antlion mines and I had just gotten onto an elevator. I was surrounded by Antlions and Zombies and I had thrown a grenade down when it auto saved. I either had to jump or face the grenade, it sucked... :(

I hate in Legend of Zelda games when I save in the middle of a temple, you load up again and you're at the start of the temple with the item, but now you can't go anywhere because you lost train of thought after leaving the original session.

The damn invisble paths.... hellooooo mappers I can't read your blasted minds you know, it should be OBVIOUS where I need to go, not wonder around a level after having killing everything wondering where the hell I was meant to go before I give up and go play a better game.

Oh I get lost all the time.

Even in games like Resistance when there's only ever one way to go.

I have to have a map or something otherwise i'm ruined.

Autosaving. Thank god The Orange Oox also had manual saves.

I can always look online to find out where to go.

Hidden paths, grinding to level up, not having the devs logic, things that are vaguely alluded to in the game so that it requires you to go out and get the strategy guide I am of course speaking of FF7's Chocobo inbreeding thing to get the Gold Chocobo, thankfully I only borrowed the game

At time missions. Though currently I have been playing Mercenaries (1st one) and I would rather try to avoid pissing everyone off and am trying to do those missions covertly. (I am Mui too btw) but now all the missions basically force me to piss em off to the point of hostillity. Was easier when I could stealthy snipe em, but noooooooo.

Training for me. I always thought that as long as you played through the story you should be able to make it by, but some games make it so hard you need to grind for a long time, and I run out of patience sometimes... Also kills the flow.

i NEVER knew where to go on riddick dark athena, there was always a bit where you had to backtrack to find a door that was previously locked, or send a drone to halt a fan etc that was blocking your path
It was hard to figure out where to go next on that game.
