One of the bigger pet peeves i have relating to auto saves in games are games that don't autosave frequently enough, Such as Mass Effect. Developers, if creating a balanced autosave function in a game is too difficult to program, just don't apply it.

I've never liked point-and-click adventures, probably because trying to follow the developer's logic has never appealed to me. Autosaving doesn't bother me so much as long as there's an option to manually save in another save slot.

But what REALLY pisses me off most in games? Having the plot bottleneck at a mission I can't pass, and this is made 150,000 times worse if there's a long unskippable cutscene involved (Xenogears found its way onto my 25 Worst Games of All Time list for that reason.)

getting lossed is annoying. I just use the TCL command in fallout 3 if I get annoyed about going out a dungeon.

I'm surprised that nobody else has voted for unskippable cutscenes, seeing that they're God's way of punishing the unworthy of this world. I can't remember what game it was (Assassin's Creed or something, I dunno), but essentially there was a character who I killed, spoke to me for a good hour, and then I'd get raped by other forces and load at the previous checkpoint. And you couldn't skip it! I died a little that day.

Is bad escorts a good answer... you know the ones where they can die... and have such terrible AI they run into the middle of a group of enemies, even though they having nothing to fight them with... I.e C&C Renegade Escort mission... a group of Nod is fighting a group of tiberium creatures... and what does your escort do?!

Runs into the crossfire... all the time... and since the tiberium creatures use... well tiberium weapons you can't see where he is in the group... and you end up blowing his head off...

Mine would have to be the training. I just love it when i played FF7, there was a boss halfway through the first disk, the one that used Trine (cant remember the name). Anyway, i tried beating him the first time and he wipes out my entire party with one attack. So i was a little peeved after that, so i ended up training rigorously next to the save point, almost so much that i wanted to have Eye Of The Tiger going in the background. So after an hour of training, i had gotten... 4 levels.
...
whoo... so i try to go and fight the thing, it does the same attack and does about 1/6 of my characters hp. So i retaliate, and i do almost half its hp. So that kinda pissed me off because it was only that one attack, which it only starts the battle off with. So if you can survive that, you can be level 1 and kill it.
...It was REALLY annoying...
