I am against animal rights. That's what is sounds like. Against Rights. Rights are given to all human beings, and I am denying that. It sounds bad.
Oh wait, they aren't sentient humans. They don't have the ability to think like we do. Therefore, I do not believe that animals deserve similar rights as humans.

I think we should make sure that humans get all those things before worrying about the animals. But I certainly oppose senseless mistreatment of animals.
Christ dude, a bit binary, no? I mean, maybe I think that someone who beats a dog to death should get some form of punishment (nothing too extreme, but something at least), but I hate PETA. There's shades of gray that you're ignoring.
they aren't necessarily sentient, but they do think. they feel pain. they deserve to have rights protecting their welfare. granted, their rights will not resemble our rights, as we are more complex creatures. but they deserve to be protected from those that would do them unnecessary harmblackshark121 said:

I mean, as long as they're not being horribly mistreated before they're brutally slaughtered so I can eat them, I don't see where the problem is.

as long as you let me eat whatever i want then you can treat animals like they're worth more than you.
you shouldnt abuse animals, but it dosnt mean everyone must be vegitarian to save the animals. cant we all treat animals nicly, give them a quick death, and then be norished from the fat and muscles
The interesting thing about animal rights is that it isn't a case of black and white. It's a scale.
For instance, I am glad to eat beef and, therefore, for the cattle to be treated in that way. However, suggest to me that my golden retriever should be subject to that treatment and I would consider it monstrous.

All animals should be treated well, even if they are going to be eaten. I can't help it if they're delicious. But I'd prefer for them to be able to at least have a decent life in the time being.
There needs to be harsher penalties for animal cruelty, especially when people kill domestic animals just to get their yayas out.

Considering I hold most animals in higher regard then humans, yeah I defiantly support animal rights. Even if the animal is being raised for food, it should still be properly cared for until it's time for it to become food.
