I split it pretty evenly between the off-topic discussions and the featured content. When there's no new content I check for new OT threads.
I think going to the Religion and Politics threads is a little risky. Too close to the Basement.

Kind of funny how I don't spend a whole lot of time on Video game discussion.
So far it doesn't seem as popular as it should be.

The vast majority of my time is spent in User Groups. I browse the forums somewhat often, too. Mostly Off-Topic, Gaming, and News Room.

I spend the majority of my time in forum games and lurking in Off-Topic.
Sadly, I'm growing less and less inclined to post in OT lately.

I browse off topic a lot but it's 99.9% crap, so most of my communicating is in 1 user group...this one:

To be honest, I think it's sad the Off-Topic threads/posts far outnumber the Gaming Discussion... on a website about gaming.

I get it, The Escapist is also about "geek culture", but come on...

I spend most of the time in Off Topic, Forum game and RP and in one of my groups. I do post in Gaming, The News Room and Featured Content althoughI rarely post in Reviews and Advice topic. I'm not part of the gene wars and I avoid religon and job board.

I go to any thread I find interesting. And since most threads are in Off topic, I chose that.

ETA: What's a user group?
This is one. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Team-Fortress-2-Group-PC]

There are many others. Click the 'Community' tab, and then the 'User Group' tab.

I used to go around everything, but now it's almost exclusively Religion and Politics and the usergroups I manage.

I tend to just browse about Off-Topic looking for interesting threads to poke into and comment. Though I'm also a mod for the Escapist Headbanger's user group which I like to keep an eye on for good music related discussion.

Forum Games, followed by Off-Topic and User Groups. Most of my friends are in FG so I usually only post in OT when I see a thread that interests me.

I checked the Pubclub forum a couple times, but it seemed pretty dead other than a "what happend to the pubclub forum" thread. Granted, I haven't been here nearly as long as you so maybe it was more lively at some point.

I like the room for broader discussion. Maybe it has tilted in favour of off-topic but if the forum was strictly game related it wouldn't be as much of a draw for a lot of people.

Its the slowness that I like about the PubClub forum... back when it first started, there were only a handful of us so everyone could recognise each other, it was like our own little village, really quite nice :D

I do see what you mean as "dead" though, its seemed to have lost its appeal a little as of late...
