OT: Meh, it happens.
Same here. I've been watching Yahtzee's videos since Psychonauts but only recently joined the forums to discuss them. I was pleasantly surprised at how rich the gaming culture is here at the Escapist. The site itself has definitely improved with additions like Unskippable, GNN, Movie Bob, Rebecca Mayes, etc.Snork Maiden said:This. I know I wouldn't consider someone anything other than a newbie until they'd been around for a looooong time. It is rather odd how many 2009 people are here though.Low Key said:It seems everyone in this thread except Ultrajoe have join dates in 2009. I'd say we're all "noobs". The other forums I visit I've had memebership on for 5+ years.
I actually wonder how many people started visiting the Escapist itself (not the forums) at that time? I know it's been a weekly thing for me since about ZP 5 or something, it's just that I've only now gotten around to making an account.Lukeje said:...and my vote is Meh. Most of you guys weren't around for the Yahtzee-inspired population explosion. That's when most people (including me) joined.
What about people who joined the community long ago but rarely post? I've seen people who joined one week ago and already had 500 posts(I'm not making that up). Would those not be newbies anymore just because they're absolutely crazy and post in every thread?Fniff said:1-100 post.Rex Dark said:Starting from when do you consider someone a newbie?
