More traffic for the website is nothing but good news for them. Although this past week I have been drifting awfully far away from The Escapist...no topics really interest me anymore.

Until they do something stupid, consider them one of us and embrace them.

I see what you are talking about. All I can say is that it can't be bad, we were all new at one point. I haven't been here that long, but look at me now: I've already angered about 1/10th the amount of people Hitler has offended, and I have a fairly good collection of posts. And I am typing five minutes after midnight...I have no life...but at least some of the newer people can get just as absorbed as we are to this forum and make us look a little more normal.

In that measure someone who has joined less than 24 hours ago could no longer be a newbie, if they just found a way to spam post enough posts. I just did almost 100 posts in the last 7 hours or so.

I just post on EVERYTHING. I spend about .5-4 hours a day on this site, every other week. It gives me plenty of time to post.

Maybe the influx has something to do with the PS3's fortunes improving or more links from other websites or both?

Some people might have accessed this site through their PS3 or Wii.

It's a good thing, naturally. When the newbies stop showing up and the old blood loses interest, a site goes the way of ham radio and recreational CB radio or even the telegaph.

It's happened to quite a few sites that I used to frequent, so it's good to see that it won't be happening to the Escapist for a while.
