I don't mind. Some have some decent ideas but some are also complete jackasses..But that happens everywhere and not with just new members.

Well, I've been floating around the site for a good long while now, and even stopped by the forums to read things that looked interesting. But, I never actually joined because I know for a fact that I have no attention span when it comes to these things... no matter what the forum or online thingy (KoL, for example), I always join, stick around for a varying amount of time, get integrated into the community, and then vanish without a trace, simply because I got bored and forgot to go back. The only reason I joined this forum was because I had something specific to say about a news post. Other than that... sometimes I respond when I see something mildly interesting and have nothing better to do. It's likely that, in a year's time, I'll have managed less than 100 posts.
Does that make me a newbie? Well, no, if we're going by time, but I'll have very little sense of what is going on in the forum, and what the current state of the forum's culture is like, so in that sense, yes. It's a nebulous term.

Well more new members is always a good thing; the dedicated ones will stay and become valued members while the ones who'll just troll etc. will be banned & gone pretty quickly. We were all new once - I don't even have 200 posts yet despite having read these forums for a while.
I know a lot of them are joining to get the free trial key for Fallen Earth. It's not necessarily a bad thing, everyone starts out as a newbie.Fniff said:

Unless you have moderation privileges, all you can do is click report and ignore it until it goes away. Otherwise, you're having a dick-waving contest with a troll/idiot, and therefore, feeding it/engaging it in a drawn-out debate that nobody is going to win and only bumps a worthless thread to the top of the queue. There is no winning, nobody's going to walk away victorious and be hailed as the forum hero who slew the villainous troll... some people come here to get a reaction and start shit, some come here to try to make a name for themselves through idiotic antics; inciting people to react to either is only going to provide the trolls and idiots with encouragement and incentive to stick around.dududf said:
