Poll: where were you 11 years ago: N64 or ps1?

Ps1 mainly because of spyro and the Final Fantasy series
But there is also quite a long and dull story to why I had a ps1 but I will not bore you to death with a wall of text

I remember renting an N64 from Hollywood Video and thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Then I got the DK64 bundle for Christmas later that year and was overjoyed. I miss my N64. I still have it but it's at home and I'm at college.

I never owned a real console (being poor and little) but would have taken a PSX if I had money and a drivers lisence then.

N64 popped my console cherry (i had a Genesis when i was younger, but im not gonna count that), but the PS1 has my favorite game of all time MGS. I'm still gonna have to go with N64 though because that was my first and I still remember all the good times with super mario64, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, the mario party games, LoZ: Ocarana and Majora's mask, and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (Among MANY more games).

Wow I didn't realize what a tough choice this would be. At first I wanted to say PSone because of Metal Gear Solid, FF series, Castlevania, etc., but I think I sank many more hours into Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Zelda (both), all the WWF games, SSBM, Gauntlet, Mario Kart/Diddy Kong Racing, etc.

Grew up with Nintendo 64. Only got a PS1 last year and can't find any intresting games on it that don't look like origami figures ran over by a lawnmower.

Though I remember Crash Bandicoot and PaRappa. I should hunt those games down.

EDIT: Also, so I don't need to make a topic, does anyone know if whether or not the PS1 is region locked? I've had my eye on Vib-Ribbon lately.

Playstation One. The graphics of the N64 really turned me off of the system, for the most part, but not as much as that bloody awful gamepad.

Don't get me wrong, as I did enjoy some of the games on the system, like Golden Eye, Ocarina of Time, Bomberman 64, Mario 64, Mario Kart, and Mario Party.

I'll always love the Playstation, as the first game I bought for it was Final Fantasy VII, and that'll always be one of my all time favorite games. Plus Gran Turismo II. Me and a group of friend played that religiously one summer until we had first place in every race, had every car, and every car optimized. Then, of course, the Playstation had, and has, probably the best gamepad ever made for a console.

Didn't get another console till the PS2 when my parents finally realized that cartridges finally became obsolete.

it was sort of arbitrary that I got the playstation and my brother got an N64 that christmas, but I've stuck by the brand ever since. I't sbeen pretty good to me, all things considered.
