Why isn't "both" an option? I had three consoles going, man: my PS1, N64, and my good old workhorse SNES. Though since you've kindly asked me to choose, I'll go with the PS1.
I, too, played on all of these three. Besides SNES, I used the 64 the most I think.

N64 was my main system 11 years back. You could barely keep the heat off of three games in particular; Donkey Kong 64, Paper Mario, and Goldeneye. I didn't get my hands on a PS1 until ten years ago.

I had the PS1, but at that point I still played my SNES more than anything. Never liked the controls for the N64.

We had a N64 for most of the time, but then after a while, we got a PS1. The N64 was mostly used for multi-player games like Mario Kart 64 and all those good games. I have to say that I enjoyed the PS1 more though; Legend of Mana, Final Fantasy, Namco Museum, ect.

I think I was still playing Sega Genesis, and starting to get into PC Gaming. That's about when StarCraft came out, 1998, so yeah. Roughly then.

My brother still has an N64...but I don't think he's used it in years.

At the time I was in college and this was before NYC had turned into a giant mall so I actually didn't have either; I went out with my friends a lot. There were plenty of places to go see free/cheap shows.

I did play a few games at the time (Xwing vs Tie Fighter, Discworld 2, 40k Chaos Gate, original Fallouts)but they were all on the pc... or my older consoles.

I was a PS1 "kid" (kid, my ass, I was 20 in 1997 when I bought mine to play FF7). Two things clinched the deal for me. One, Final Fantasy VII was a PlayStation game, and two, I got a chance to play Goldeneye on the N64 controller and so despised the N64 three-handed controller experience that I gave it a huge "fuck that" and went Sony.

Hard one. I first got in to console gaming (was already a PC gamer) when I played an N64 at the hospital (Broken arm, gaming helped fix it quicker). But then I went and bought a PS1 which I equally loved. But seeing as I later bought the PS2, I'll plump for the Playstation.
