Mobility is key to survival in a situation involving the living dead. Wherever you decide to hole up and wait it out is the last place you'll be alive. With any hideout, you have to be silent, and do nothing to attract them to you. This is how people become stir crazy, and get your entire group killed in a massive outburst of emotion.

I'm not saying you won't need to rest up at all, but the concept of a home in any fashion goes out the window when the situation consists of people you formerly knew wanting to eat your flesh. Temporary hideouts are the way - stick to the woods, and look for foragable foods and supplies as nomads have done for millenia.

My house is big enough and we have two rooms stockpiled with food. Plus the weapons I own, which I have guns, swords, daggers, and ect... Anyways I have sheet metal, 1/4" thick. I'd block my windows outside and inside with it. Ration food and get rid of everyone else cause they piss me off. 'Cept my girlfriend, for sanity and help(shes an amazing shot). Plus I have a 1997 Ford F-250 Twin-turbo Diesel, 8' bed, crew cab, which I can easily make a tank or close enough. Also I have a wood stove and a propane stove so I could cook and heat the house. Oh yeah I have a garage. Sorry I went on forever, but I think you get the idea.

EDIT: Sorry forgot the three generators, one for the fridge, one for the computers, and one for tvs and game systems.

EDIT 2: Sorry forgot the 2006 Chevy Suburban.
Is someone telling porkies??

My house is pretty zombie proof, was thinking about it the other day (as you do)...

They'd have to get up my very narrow stairs to my front door, and same for my back one, both entrances are far too tight for mass horde-age to come through.

I could block them off easily enough...Heck I could get out of the front windows and have a BBQ on the front patio and still be safe!

I'd go to Walmart, they have everyday low prices. Other people would probably be there too...so I can hide behind them or throw them in the way if they start coming in.

Shops of any kind, especially large ones such as supermarkets would be terrible places to try and hold out. While yes; supplies would be plentiful, these would be obvious places to go, so you'd have lots of people rushing to them to grab whatever supplies they can, in turn attracting zombies (of which there would be a great many, considering how most such places are in highly urbanized environments.

At the outbreak of the Zombie Apocalypse, I would gather whatever supplies and weapons I could reasonably carry while maintaining mobility and make for the countryside, perhaps a nearby RAF or army base.
Yah, an army base is a natural choice for anybody.
Anybody know where your nearest army base is?
Bonus points if you can find the closest one to Strathmore Alberta.

i would be in the middle of all the zombies, limping, making those sounds.
If it worked in Shaun of the Dead, it can work in real life (and no questioning my logic please).

I'd run, screw being a hero, it's not worth it if you're dead. Although if you die and become a zombie then I'd probably stay in some wallmart och my house.

I think most people don't realize that if you go to an Army base you're likely to be shot on sight.

Where is the one failproof solution, A BOAT. Running would be the second best choice because your never in danger of being unde seige. Just sleep in high tree's and take the freeways.
(basing this on the Zombie Survival Guide)

Oh I forgot about inner city schools. My schools built like a prison. seel off the doorways stay on the scond floor and the center and use the roof and courtyard for crops and power

Walmart, since they sell guns and ammo (apparently, I'm British so I believe the Walmart stereotype although I shopped there when on holiday in Florida and didn't find it quite as stereotypical as I thought it would be). Otherwise, I'd choose none of these, but hide in a military base (or my old school) since they both have weapons, ammo and supplies to last. Plus, with the military there's more chance of rescue. And anyone who finds it odd that a school in the UK should have weapons and ammo obviously hasn't heard of the CCF...

Id gather my family up wife kids brothers and head to the nearest sporting goods store, and gather all the supplies i could then head to vegas and hide out in one of the casino Vaults(one that could be opened from the inside). Climate controlled vault= air circulation, one heavy duty ass door.

This may be a bit biased but the average wallmart shopper is an arrogent moron and they would all be fighting for leadership and guns within a half hour.

I would stay at home. I would get many months supply of food from the supermarket thats right next to where I live. I live in an apartment on the 7'th floor and the door is armoured, so I would wait it out till the zombies die out (for the second time)

I would choose Walmart/Target, tons of supplies for every need, guns and ammo readily available, large space, and plenty of alternative exits.
