i have mixed feelings about it
it's a great game all around, but the fanboys make me want to set fire to the arbiter
And one of my friends has all these guys who he hangs with and i usually end up in the same party with that complain EVERY FREAKING TIME THEY DIE
It's like listening to satan scratching the chalkboards of hell
So i don't like it as much as i did before

The love for it got lost somewhere around the millionth thread about it...
This perfectly sums it up....though I still enjoy the games.
Yeah I enjoyed Halo 3 it was a good fun romp.

Too much backtracking and shitty signposting ruined it a bit for me though.

GEtting lost in the flood level was hellish!
Dear god, the flood level was a nightmare, worst level design I can think of in recent history. That level alone diminished a lot of the campaign for me.

for me my experience with halo 1 was awesome
but after that it all went to hell when i stopped caring about the story so to me the campaign was a complete waste of time and since the online community tends to belong on the short bus the multiplayer isn't really worth playing anymore so nothing about the game appeals to me anymore.

but the game is really refined and by no means is bad i just don't personally like it

I like the game for it's attention to detail, and it's deep involving storyline, I think it has one of the deepest stroylones for a game of its sort
I didn't like the game because of it's generic environments and shallow storyline. I think it's because i was expecting it to be like BioShock or Half-Life and was let down. It wasn't a terrible game, it just wasn't good.

Shallow storyline are you kidding me the story line is so deep it should be considered an ocean.

It's okay.
I enjoyed the first one.
I played the second ones multiplayer all the time. (Get some friends online with you and you can have a hell of a time)
Didn't enjoy the third one to much.

This thread will not end well. Good luck.

It's an alright game. The first one was best, and it was quite fun to play with friends. The story was sorta generic, but it was a fun game. Not the second coming of christ, nor a pile of shit in a box. Just a fun, fairly mindless shooter. I prefer Half Life.

Happy?

Said shitstorm isn't quite here yet. We're not that bad, are we?

Halo multiplayer is decently fun. Definitely not best game ever, and possibly a more than a bit overrated, but it's fun. I prefer CoD4 though, probably because you get to create your class. (No, I am not bashing Halo nor am I worshiping CoD. This is not the flame-bait you are looking for)

Well, people don't love it here, because too many people love it elsewhere.

We hate love.

I couldn't even get through the first one's campaign due to boredom. There just wasn't enough variety for me it needed more guns and enemies That plus the fact that everything looked like they were action figures and accessories.
Edit: The last straw is that even the first one plays like a sequel. They don't put any effort into introducing characters they just throw 'em at ya and say "You remember him!"

I am a dedicted fan of the halo universe but i have to agree there are better games out there. For me the games are special becuase I know the wonderful back story and before halo 3 came out I was eager to finish the fight. However now I hardly play and are getting annoyed but how much the franchise is getting milked and the online experience. I hate the community that has formed around it. Mostly casual gamers who think they need to prove themselves by being a jerk to everyone around them. However when it comes down to a friendly game between friends or all out match to beat a bunch of trashtalkers online it is hard to beat.
