Haters. Fanboys generally don't bother anyone until Haters insult their baby. And Haters need no provocation to be absolute douches.
I resent that.
I only speak my opinions on certain games/consoles when I have the opportunity to do so...And there's some pretty good things about any game, even if I don't like them or think they straight up suck.
That said, I'm overly critical of everything: that is, I tend to find something to hate about everything, even my favorite games.
Naturally, I hate it when mediocre or bad products do better than exceptionally good products, but I think everyone here does - like BG&E having less sales than the Imagine series.I feel like a justified hater, but I suppose they all do, eh?
I just feel terrible and superficial when people just talk to me about how beautiful and wonderful everything is. Especially when I personally feel it's not. Now, I'm not about to give a lecture on how awesome the GOOD OL' DAYS were, but suffice to say that I can, I almost want to, but I don't mind people enjoying what they have.
I'm just tired of everyone running around talking about how they're a FPS expert when they've never heard of Quake, and the only UT they've played is 3. I'm tired of people claiming to be the biggest Fallout fan when they've never played the first two games. Tired of strategy experts who won't play Starcraft because the graphics are cartoony.
I don't like it when fanboys are in love with their franchise and refuse to try anything else.
I don't like it when fanboys talk down on me for not liking their franchise when I already have a substitute that (to me) is superior.
I don't like it when fanboys are bro gamers.
Can I stop now?
The problem is that fanboys ARE haters. Ever meet a PS3 fanboy? 80% of the time they're 360 haters. And likewise for the 360. Ever meet a PC, 360, OR PS3 fanboy? They're all fucking Wii haters. Ever find a Wii fanboy? They shun everyone who even owns a 360 or PS3 because OBVIOUSLY the ONLY people who would own a 360 is a FPS-fanboy, and all PS3-owners HAVE to love MGS and hate those 'casual' kiddie games.
Unconditional love for something that deserves it? Debatable.
Unconditional love for something that doesn't deserve it? Bad.
Unconditional hate for anything? No.
Conditional hate for products and companies that do services in a way that is wrong? Debatable. (windows live, I mean, seriously)
Anyway, my point is that haters can be justified. A lot of them are terrible, but not all of them. And fanboys can be justified too. A lot of them are terrible, but not all of them.
Why lop them together like this?
