Situational. I'm whatever the team needs at the time.
Which is tough when no one is being a medic, heavy or engineer and I attempt to fill all three roles.

I love being the medic/cleric/bard. The generic support role suits me.

Medic/Engineer. I always find myself so much more useful when I can res that guy who just got shot or fix that thing because someone just blew it up.

Always the medic. Suits my personality type.

EDIT: I should add, the Battlefield 2 type of Medic class, where you're still every bit as capable of downing someone from across the map as an assault gunner.

The dude who builds and repairs the shit that helps the other people.

I would never help them directly, of course, but I like to pretend to help.

Also, engineers always seem to get shotguns, which is my weapon of choice.

I use a shotgun wherever possible in every game. Though there some game where the shotgun is so offensively bad I have to switch to a rifle like a garand etc.

I voted Heavy Weapons. Not for MP games like CoD, but for Fallout 3. I made a heavy Weapons class and it was damn fun running around with Eugene (Unique Minigun) and 25,000 5mm rounds. (No i'm not exagerating when i said 25k rounds for this thing)

For MP stuff I play the Sniper. But I prefer the medium to long range weappons like the m16, m14 (cod 4), SVT40, Gewehr (WaW). But when i do use a pure sniper rifle, i like the Kar98k for WaW, and the Dragunov for Cod 4

I enjoy being the medic, I'd be more of an assault class, but nobody likes to be the medic in the games that I play, Battlefield is a good example, so I stick to the back of the line and pick up the would-be corpses that come across.

i tend to alternate between the noob that accidentally shoots their own team and the crazy rambo idiot who runs out to get gunned down.

therefore, the annoying one no one wants one their team

*cries*

Everyone likes the healer.
Except when they are screaming for heals and they are outside your range, but it doesn't matter, because after they run their dumb ass back to their corpse or you rez them, it's still your fault they died. That's why I went for DPS.
Amen sister.

I'm the sneaky SOB who sets you alight. That'd count as Support right?
If it's WoW, you are a fire mage or a warlock and straight-up, unadulterated DPS (Damage Per Second.) If you are in TF2 or suchlike, well, I suppose you are still DPS. You don't fortify a position or lay traps, you don't do any sort of reconnaissance like the snipers often do, you aren't charging the front lines. You don't take care of other team members. All you do is find the quickest, easiest way to make someone's health go away without getting hurt yourself, right? Sounds like DPS to me.

I'm the guy who you need to see but won't until it's too late for you, your friend, or possibly your neighbor if I'm in the mood for a good ol' wheeze.

I sneak around with explosives, and when you least expect it, BOOM! There goes your support vehicle, and when you go with your assault rifle to follow the smoke trail. By now of course I'm already gone, having reloaded on the way out, then, whilst hiding, BOOM! and you're gone too.

The funniest thing is when the enemy starts expecting me to flank them, though, because by the time they've set up their defenses I just charge, machine gun blazing and kill as many of them as I can. This naturally sets them off balance, and that isn't helped by my tendency to jump out of aircraft just so I can get to a higher place to shoot them all. They see it explode, and then BOOM! so do they.

I'm more of what you would call a "Longshot Expert".

I have a habit of using sub machine gun style weaponry with sights and then firing bursts from long distance. I know it doesn't sound right, but it works oddly well. I have good aim, but I suck at all other elements of sniping such as finding position and properly predicting my shots, while I'm much better with automatic weapons, but I'm too reckless to properly stay alive in a strictly front line situation. I basically lumped my SMG skill and long aim together and called it a position.

Of course, if I don't get any action longshooting, I just skulk around the map trying to find something with soft enough flesh to be hurt by bullets.
