To be honest i'd have to say yu-gi-oh was nerdier. Sure i've gone through the whole effort of learning the iv and ev systems, and have even gone as far as to train up about 15 competitive pokemon, and i'm not ashamed to admit that. Yu-gi-oh however is something i just can't see myself being comfortably playing or admitting to playing in a public setting like akin to cosplaying and such. This isn't to put upon any yu-gi-oh players here but that's just how i personally feel.
