The actor's Scottish, but he puts on an accent for the character.SecretNegative said:So subtle Yorkshire = Scottish? What?Binnsyboy said:OT: Well, I'm from Yorkshire, but my accent is quite subtle. The end result, people tell me, is that I sound exactly like Robb Stark.
OnT: Bronn would probably be the most fun, it's a lot more fun to watch people like Tyrion, Tywin, Varys etc. than actually play them. If you play them you know all their secrets and plans, which defeats the SURPRISE! BRILLIANCE! part of their plans. Bronn would actually be a great protagonist in a game.
Captcha: Win hands down. Damn this new captcha is creepy, it can read my mind! Help!
I can't believe you still think that after watching a series that has Sean Bean in it!SecretNegative said:Yeah, they do sound a bit different, but I still think he sounds a bit Scottish. Then again, I'm incredibly racist and believe that the only accents in the UK are Oxford and Scottish.Binnsyboy said:The actor's Scottish, but he puts on an accent for the character.
Edit: case in point
Showcases the actor's actual voice against his character's.
Edit again: There's not as much of the character voice in there as I thought. So this, too:
Oh, alright then. I'll explain.Grouchy Imp said:Ok, I think you've misunderstood me:Thoraxe said:Were you even reading my post? I expressed my wish to see Arya older. and your response isGrouchy Imp said:Point number one - Spoilers.Thoraxe said:Bronn, Arya or Jaime are very interesting characters.I yearn for a time skip so Arya stark can grow into a full fledged badass.
but I read the books and well, some dreams get crushed early.
Point number two - No offence, but you can't have read the books very carefully if you think that. Her training at the House of Black and White to become a Faceless Man is all kinds of badass.
OT: Jaime Lannister's character progression is, for me, one of the most interesting in the series so I'll place my vote there. Davos Seaworth gets a mention here too, and I'm eager to see where Griff's story goes as well.
she is training to be a faceless man! woahahaha
That doesn't begin to address what I said.
You expressed a desire to see Arya as an older badass, my point was that no time skip is required for that. Why should she need to be twenty-something before anything interesting happens to her? Yeah she's still a sprog, but she's learning to be an assassin - what more could you want?
I apologise if my message came across as confrontational, it was intended as polite inquiry.
I've read all the books (including the Dunk & Egg short stories), and I know Tyrion gets *involved* in battles- but he mostly just survives them. He's no warrior. And the HBO series seems to be trying to get that across by cutting out what little content in the story involving his battles/acrobatics. Save the shield incident, but that was more to demonstrate that he's *willing* to do violence rather than show his prowess.Binnsyboy said:I don't know if you've read the books, but I won't spoil anything just in case. I'll just say Tyrion's not too shabby in a fight. Wouldn't put him up against Brienne or Jorah or any of the highlighted warriors, or anything (at least not head on) but he's not exactly a pussy.Emiscary said:Bah! He's like the boringest Stark you could've picked. John Snow's more like his dad than Robb anyway... Robb's more like his late uncle. The Hero Killer said:Robb Stark, he was just cool to me like a younger tougher Eddard.
That being said, I'm not surprised Tyrion's the frontrunner. He's beloved by all, and he's a character with no martial prowess to speak of. So if you played him it would be in a game that doesn't revolve exclusively around stabbing people! So there's probably a second message in that choice... (IE: people wanna be able to play noncombatants...)
Sandor/Gregor/Bronn are all cut from more or less the same cloth. I just figure Tyrion's the best potential leash holder out of the choices. Tywin's a prick, and Joffrey's the grand daddy of pricks.croc3629 said:Sandor Clegane. The leash would chaff at first, but oh it would feel so good once he's cut it loose, even if he is still a bastard in his own right. And I'd really like him to take a crack at
zombie Gregor.
if Martin has that in mind.
You *DO* get to have a blonde trophy wife, brutally murder the prettyboy who kidnapped your girl *AND* father around 16 bastards. There are worse fates, provided you like boar >.>Daveman said:Robert Baratheon.
Fucking and drinking all day yet inexplicably depressed.
Plus I would like to have at least won a war.
I really want to read all those prequels and short stories. Where the hell do I find them? That's what "other" is forWitty Name Here said:What? No Littlefinger? What about Mance Rayder?
All my favorite characters aren't on the list =(
I'm not too sure about that, from the books I just feel that he isn't that "interested" in evil, after all he chides his son for all his evil antics at one point, plus he says all he desires is just a "Quiet Land, With A Quiet People"Emiscary said:True, but I'm convinced Roose is just as fucked up in exactly as creepy a fashion. I think he just hides it significantly better.
Bit of info about themBinnsyboy said:I really want to read all those prequels and short stories. Where the hell do I find them? D:
Dunk's story began with The Hedge Knight, originally featured in Robert Silverberg's Legends anthology, and continued in The Sworn Sword, from Legends II, and The Mystery Knight, from Warriors, edited by George R. R. Martin and Gardner Dozois.
The Hedge Knight can be found in GRRM's Dreamsongs: Volume II. The Sworn Sword can be found in Legends II: Dragon, Sword, and King. The first two Dunk and Egg Tales were also adapted as graphic novels by Dabel Bros. Pro and Marvel: The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword. The Mystery Knight is currently available in Warriors.
And that. Most definitely that.kman123 said:He gets to slap Joffrey.
She has the potential to turn into one kick-ass assassin/avenger. If only her sword-fighting teacher stuck around for a little longer. I loved that guy.BENZOOKA said:I always choose a male character, and rely on in-your-face melee tactics more than often, but...
Arya. She's cute, kind of an underdog and reminds of the protagonist from the great His Dark Materials -trilogy.
