Well i thought Metro 2033 is a straight up action horror FPS ? Am not really a big fan of stealth games so if Metro 2033 employs too much of stealth i will have to pass.shrekfan246 said:Well, what type of experience are you looking for? What types of games do you prefer the most? Did you play the first two Dead Space games (hopefully a silly question)?
I've never played Alan Wake, but I can give my impressions of the other three.
Dead Space 3 opens in a pretty silly manner, gets some pretty nice steam going about 2 hours in until about six-ten hours depending on how much exploration and side-missions you do, then starts stumbling again once you actually land on the planet that will become the main location for the rest of the game. Also it blocks off all of Carver's character progression to the Co-Op missions apparently, and there's no AI for those missions since he never accompanies you in other sections of a solo game, so you can't play them in a single-player game, which will infuriate you if you're a completionist because collectibles are hidden in the Co-Op missions too. Still, it was a pretty fun game, and the weapon-creation mechanic was absolutely fantastic. If they had still let you use four weapons along with strapping weapons together, I probably would've liked it the most in the franchise.
Metro 2033 pissed me off so much that it's one of the few games I rage-quit and uninstalled from my PC. It has some of the worst implementation of stealth mechanics I've ever seen in a game that ostensibly is trying to be stealth-focused, because going all Rambo is likely to end with you dead after four or five seconds. And I didn't even make it to the infamous amoeba portion of the game which is usually what people talk about when they're angry at it.
The Witcher 2 is a fantastic Action-WRPG, but it's got rather slow pacing and an incredibly wonky difficulty curve that makes the opening a two-story brick wall without footholds that you have to scale which then plateaus off for the second Act. But it's got really good writing, great philosophy and politics, and doesn't try to glorify how 'dark' or 'edgy' it is like the first game did.
Why ? I am very interested in Alan Wake as it seems to have a great story and great atmosphere. what did you not like about the game ?cloroxbb said:I have only played Alan Wake out of those choices, and I do not recommend it![]()
Eh... you could maybe get through it going the action route, but not the way I managed it. I was stuck in an apocalypse-Nazi camp section pretty early on because you get surrounded by turret placements and far more enemies than you can actually take head-on unless you're Superman.mohit9206 said:Well i thought Metro 2033 is a straight up action horror FPS ? Well, I heard one of the patches re-tooled the difficulty of the opening a little bit, and it does have plenty of difficulty options, but playing on Normal (pre-patch, mind) still kicked my ass back and forth. As for Witcher 2 just how difficult are the opening act ? Does the game have difficulty options ?
The Witcher 2 isn't too hard in the beginning on normal. You just need to know that when you see a shield guy block him then attack.mohit9206 said:Well i thought Metro 2033 is a straight up action horror FPS ? Its not so hard, you just have to get the hang of it and the game doesn't hold your hand. You have to move a lot during combat and make extensive use of dodging.mohit9206 said:As for Witcher 2 just how difficult are the opening act ? Does the game have difficulty options ?
What are the difference between the various editions of witcher 2 ? normal and enhanced edition and assassin of kings ?Chris Tian said:The Witcher 2 is the best WRPG of all times in my book.
-The story is very interesting and not as generic "go save the world from evil dragons" as most wrpg.
-It features a cast of many very cool characters.
-The choices you make have actual consequences down the line and most of them are grey instead of black and white.
-The combat might have a steep learning curve but its very fun and has, with magic signs, bombs, traps and potions, enough depth to keep you entertained and challenged.
-It looks fantastic (pc version at least).

Yes the game has different difficulty options.
"Assassins of Kings" is the subtitle, the game is called "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings".mohit9206 said:What are the difference between the various editions of witcher 2 ? normal and enhanced edition and assassin of kings ?Chris Tian said:The Witcher 2 is the best WRPG of all times in my book.
