Which gamers are nicest? I mean in forums or online or in a game store or wherever.

Personally, I think RPGers are nicest, followed by single-player only, then shooter, then "classic" gamers, who tend to sharp little pieces of hate.
These are of course generalizations, and I recognize that x genre player can be more or less nice or whatever.

I say MMORPG but that may be because I play FFXI only and for the most part they're nice (unless you beg).

Few tips:

. Add a title (you can do this by pressing edit then typing into the bar at the top)

. Change the word "nicer" to most pleasant.

I'd have to say Shooters, I've played with some fantastic people over the years on Xbox Live - mostly on shooters.

I can't stand most fanatic retro gamers. It's just.. okay, we get it. The SNES was cool. Fucking get over it.

As for nicest... can't really say, though I suppose RPG'ers are probably the smarter ones.

I'm thinking that old school gamers are nicer most of the time. They almost always seem misty-eyed and lost due to the nostalgia... that should definitely be a drug.

I'd have to say the most pleasant gamers are the casual gamers. Pretty much anyone who doesn't interpret gaming as a way of life.

MMORPGs enthusiasts and players; I spent quite some time with FPS games and when I made the switch to MMOs, I found myself in an environment where players were forced or encouraged to work together, be it dungeons, elite quests and even, soloable quests. This is how I met a few of the most wonderful persons in the gaming subnet, much more than I had had the chance to meet on FPS multiplayer games, be it CS/UT or those games, that demand 'skillz' to play.

Yes, there would be the random asshole, ninja looter or troll, but at the end of the day, it was much more fun that one peek into a random american CS server filled with the usual racist newbs crying hacker at every corner.

Worst multiplayer experience: DoD:Source, I thought CS had immature people.

--I know I somehow made a generalization about American game servers, but note the word random; I had plenty of fun on American servers with mature admins and people around --

For this comment alone, I expect a lot of people to flip their collective shit.

Erm... None?

It's sort of impossible to classify... and even more difficulty is added to the impossibility because a lot of people generally stick to a certain area of games, and can only really observe the behavior of other people interested in the same type of games. For example, I happen to have had a relatively nice experience with the few online shooters I've played. Of course, there's always a few asshats who hack or call people's mothers whores or whatever, but I would have no idea what kind of general community the RPGs have, because I keep my roleplaying to paper plus pencil roleplaying. I've found that the mix of people in P&P gaming are generally nice to be around. Of course, there's always the few elitist dicks and the bunch who go off with the "guns are dishonorable, everyone should use swords\other medieval weapons" number, which is just stupid...

Voted classic gamers. But they have their fair share of douchebags too. Just like every other option. You'll find pleasant and unpleasant gamers in any genre.

I find PC shoot em up players to be the nicest. With a few loudmouthed exceptions. Particularly on team based games like Day of Defeat and L4D.
They tend to be the most chatty as well.

RPGS. Never MMO's. Some guy will dance on your body, teabag if possible, Eat it if allowed and yell profanity while doing any of the above.

I think it would be easier to jusdge this based on age. There is a maturity barrier I think. Though I have met many who still haven't passed that through thier mid twenties.
