RTS

They have only had one good series, Civilization. I never did care for starcraft.

EDIT: Civilization was turn based, never mind, there has never been a good RTS.
...because you're not a fan. As an RTS fan, I can safely say there are PLENTY of good RTS out there. You are aware there are more RTS in existence than Starcraft, right?
Sarcasm incoming = Nope, I never knew there where other RTS games besides Starcraft. I don't believe you : P

Sorry I don't agree with you, there are more good MMO games than RTS. That is my opinion, and you can't prove my opinion is wrong to me, right?

I respect your opinion tho, and will say (as I stated in another post in this thread) 40k games are fucking awesome! I should probably mention that in my first post....
....What? I think you should really re-read that post of your's I quoted. You said "you never did care for starcraft" and then go on to say there has never been a good RTS. You just called every RTS a starcraft clone, and then call out ME for not respecting your opinion? You were stating your opinion as fact, mate. Though I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just chalk it up to poor wording.

Though kudos for liking 40k. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!@#!@@111

That includes the Total War games, the Warhammer series, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires 2, World in Conflict, Homeworld, etc, etc, etc?

OT: I never liked racing games to be honest.
Ah yes, 40k is damn good. Nice call on that one.

But still, I can name more than one game/series from any other genre that I liked. For racing games, Burnout 2 was good fun, Forza and Project Gotham were good ones too.

One game in the genre doesn't make me change my mind. Since the thread is about having to pick, I still pick you RTS.
Oh well, RTS isn't for everyone. Though I must admit, it hasn't really changed at all in the past years. But I wonder, how could it? For me it isn't that bad.
I didn't like racing games at all, I never found them fun.
But now that I think about it, neither RPG. The only RPGs that I have liked are Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, System Shock 2, and that's practically it.

I was never a huge fan of RTS or fighting games.
I openly admit that's because I suck at them though.

JRPGS, very few are even passable good anymore
Sports, 'hey, lets charge $60 for a fresh roster an re-skin of last years version' even more stale then JRPGS -.-
FPS, all i ever see is 'call of modern warfare: halo edition'

Licensed Games -

The only good ones in this category I have played are...

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Ah, yes, Bloodlines. One of my favorite games. Did you try also Escape from Butcher Bay? I really liked that game, for me one of the best licensed if not the best one around. Also, Vampire was based on a pen and paper RPG right? Wouldn't WH40K also be on the list?

Porn games, because even when you win you're still a loser in real life. I'm sad to say that i've played more than my fair share.

Like I said, "...I have played." The ones you mentioned I have not.

However, yes, Vampire and Warhammer 40K are based on a pen and paper game and a tabletop/pen and paper game respectfully.

I was kind of taking it as which genre has the lowest lows, rather than which genre has no redeeming qualities. At least that's how I gave my answer on here before...

Sport games... not so much because the games themselves have to be bad (although I woulnt be caught dead playing a game like fifa) - but more because its games about stuff you can, and fucking should, do in real life not infront of a computer!

I mean, RTS, FPS, RPG ect are atleast games about stuff we (mostly) are never going to be able to do - sport games are just retarded in my oppinion...

I'm gonna say sports games. I hate sports games, and I think they're terminally boring.

If you mean specifically which genre has the largest number of games widely considered to be crappy in all aspects? I'm not sure...I can give the personal preference answer based on what I like or don't like, but I can't honestly think of any one genre that has the most literally *bad* games.

I mean, to some people, sports games might be quite good. And I know a lot of people here are ragging on JRPGS, and sure, there are shitty JRPGs, but if you don't like the genre anyway... =P

Maybe those execrable hidden object games they make ad nauseam for PC? But even then, if you like hidden object games...

GAH! I don't know =P

Which genre has the worst games? Point-and-click adventure games. Seriously, go to your local store that sells PC games and take a look to see if you can find some of the horrendously bad games. For every Sam & Max there are at least 15 Big Rigs equivalents.

Wait...=S...So we have a thread almost every other day either complaining about there being too many shooters, the lack of good shooters, the fact that everyone is trying to copy and go with the bland "realistic" war shooter that again everyone complains about, and then somehow the most said thing in a worse genre discussion is JRPG?.........what?
Don't question it, you'll just get confused. Besides, I'm about 90% certain that most of the people saying JRPGs have only ever played one or two FF games and watched some Yahtzee videos.
To be fair what I have seen of them is incredibly poorly written and everyone really does look like they dress in the darkest cave in the universe and close their eyes when they shop for new clothes too. They also all seem to have the same combat system I find incredibly dull. Select the most powerful attack I have that works with the asshole of the hour's weakness, and repeat until I run out of Mana, in which case use a potion and start again. And if I really want to get tactical, use one guy exclusively for healing. This works with with all CRPGs I've ever played too, except you just constantly spam all your abilities. Not all of them fall into this obviously, such as Valkyria Chronicles which seems kind of Wormsish minus the humor (not that I'll ever know, I don't have a PS3).

OT: I'd have to go with FPS, and Adventure games. The first becaue they're popular and everyone want's to cash in, the other because they're very easy to make with very little thought.

Probably RPGs. They have a lot of garbage from Square Enix (not just Final Fantasy, but pretty much every other RPG they have made is quite bad too; Kingdom Hearts for example, mashing X for however long that game was is not fun), plus most of the MMOs. Because, you know, once I get done with the massive grind of mashing X in Kingdom Hearts, I want to log into an MMO and grind some left mouse button mashing. Fuuuun.

...Hmm, no. Actually the "rhythm" genre is worse, because RPG has some good games too. Rhythm has nothing but quick time events, bad music, and more quick time events. Thankfully, the fad has ended again, and hopefully it won't return for quite some time.

I find this an interesting topic. We all can acknowledge that terrible games have come out over the years *coughfable2cough*...excuse me.
Going to assume you missed the 3 and put a 2, because what 2 learned from in 1 and improved on, 3 did away with presumably because Molyneux doesn't really understand why his games sell. If in fact you did mean 2 then I guess I proved that we don't in fact all acknowledge it as crap.

I don't know that I could rightly say any one genre has more bad games than another. I kind of agree on JRPGs in a way, because it seems like in some games the combat is the same as it's been since Final Fantasy 1 and I just don't get interested. But on the flipside I can't write them all off since I enjoy some of them.

Honestly I do dislike sports, racing and fighting games. I don't necessarily think they're bad, but it seems like a lot of the time they suffer from what many people accuse the FPS genre of suffering from; remaking games with a different tileset and upping the graphics and selling it for 60$ a pop. I can't judge them individually, as I'm sure some games do things interestingly, but it really seems like a lot of them are just remakes.

I know some racing games have a function where the goal is not in fact to reach a certain point before other vehicles but to cause as much damage as possible, which sounds like fun, so as I said before, not writing them all off.

I'll go with JRPG's. The last good one I've played in the past four years was Birth By Sleep.
