I prefer the pump action and the M4. The Uzi is a bit too...weak, and spread out for me, the pump action is just perfect (if you keep reloading when you have the time). The auto-shotty is empty too fast, I don't like that, and the M4 is ánd a sniper rifle (headshots all the way) ánd fantastic vs approaching hordes of zombies.
But dual pistols beat both of those in coolness.

I usually go with the sniper and just range them all, but i'm OK with sniper at close range too =]

With no ammo dump available - pump-shotty or auto-shotty if available.. if there's ammo around, choose the M4.

Typically I don't bring out the main weapon unless I'm facing a horde, and even then, I might not, depending on what I'm carrying. Never the M16, but either the auto shotty (in which case I'll be front, center, crouched and melee shoot melee shoot melee shoot) or the hunting rifle (stay in the back, pistols over everyone's head, or snipe if someone's far enough away that the scope doesn't cut out their head).

The shotguns, fire has spread, can take out most zombies easily, and doesn't need to fully reload before you fire (which is great because the reload time is long). It only really suffers at long range but when the zombies are far away you just use the pistols.

They're all good.
If you hate tanks and witches, use the shotties.
If you hate swarms use the machine guns.
For everything else there's the hunting rifle, which should of been a level 1 weapon and have a more powerful level 2 version.

I voted pistols because if you have a server with a person who has to run infront of everyone, its better to shoot them with pistols then shoot them in the back of the head at close range with the shotgun.

I almost always use the shotgun, simply because of the other guns faults. both rapid fire weapons i usually run out of ammo very fast and the sniper, while awesome, takes longer to reload than a nuclear missile silo.

Its not 'the other gun's faults', its your fault. If you are a bit conservative with ammo (shoot in bursts and aim for the head) you won't use as much ammo while being just as efficient.

And one thing, it's the m16

The Auto shotty is probably the best but I can never have the self control to not simply blast away with it then end up no ammo real fast.

So for me its the M16A3 for 2nd tier and pumpy for 1st.
