I almost always use the shotgun, simply because of the other guns faults. both rapid fire weapons i usually run out of ammo very fast and the sniper, while awesome, takes longer to reload than a nuclear missile silo.

What is the best weapon and why?

Its an M16. Not an M4. Please ammend.

Auto-shotty is most effective until you have to reload...

so pistols are the best, just spray until the music calms down

I always pick the M16 because normally everyone else has a shotgun. Besides, it's easier to pull infected toward you with that then the shotgun.

Pistols... I just sorta like em' They are pretty good against the horde too if you are a good shot.

The Auto Shotgun is good because it puts out a very, very large amount of damage in a very small amount of time, and it reloads fairly fast. However, I still prefer the M16 because I have never been all that good with shotguns, it seems to work on hordes the best, and it just seems to play to my style best.

The auto shotty, of course. it can take down a tank in like two clips.
plus, it's really useful if you get surrounded.

It's a tie for me between snipers and pistols but oh lucky me I can carry both at the same time =). I like the sniper because it's pretty much the auto shotty just with 15 rounds, a faster reload, and a scope. Pistols are amazing because they have unlimited ammo so you can just go on a frenzy without worrying about ammo, and they aren't too bad either.

Im gonna go with sniper, not because I think its really the best, kinda worthless on tanks but I love blowing off the infected's legs and its nice for sniping special infected that arnt the tank

auto shot guns, seeing as when i play versus with friends i always play as a point man, while we have 2 use the m16's and one with a sniper, second is the m16, third is the pistol seeing as i got akimbo assassin, stomach upset, and didn't get downed once in the game and i didn't even dual wield

Big surprise. The auto-shotty is in the lead on the poll, what a shocker! I'd like to see new weapons like melee weapons or a, oh I don't know, a flamethrower or chainsaw.

The shotgun or the pistols, which is great because I usually happen to have both at the same time (Yay pistol default!).

But I prefer the pistols and sniper. I support my teammates from afar with the sniper, picking off small groups as cleanup while they wander around looking for ammunition and the like. And then, of course, when the hordes come, it's off to the pistols.
