Poll: Which has the better online 360 or PS3?

My friend and I were arguing the other day. He said that PS3 had the better online because he didn't have to pay for it. I had to of course disagree Xbox has a better community and a better overall experience in my opinion.

What about you then friends? Which do you think has the better online?

It's gotta be XBox. Why would they force you to pay for a service if their main competitor did it better for free.

I have both, and I really don't see a difference between the two AT ALL. The only difference I have noted is that there are less children with mics on the PS3, probably because you have to buy it. Maybe thats just because the only game I have for the 360 is Reach.

Well, tbh I don't know. When I had a 360 I had a different slower ISP so I have trouble connecting to my buddy 3 streets down, yet no trouble connecting to my other friend in New Brunswick. Last year when I bought a PS3 and also moved out I have a different ISP never a problem connecting to anything.

I will say that the PSN Store is much more organized and I find it much easier to find stuff.

EDIT: I would also like to say that I much prefer a real price on something rather than points. Example: Borderlands Robot Revolution - PSN Store: $9.99
- XBL Store: 800pts.

How much did I spend? 9.99 plus tax on PS3, or 1000MSpts (14.99) now I have 200 pts left over and I still have to pay more if I want something else!

I'm gonna have to go with PS on this one. Xbox is fun for trolling people, but the constant racist 13 year-old demographic gets old after awhile. Essentially Microsoft is making me pay to listen to a generation hit puberty. PC has way too many men trying to pick me up for a date. Plus its way easier for games to be hacked on PCs. In general, people just seem more dickish on Xbox and PC. On PS3, people can and will still be dicks, but you don't have to hear them scream "******!" at you when you kill them. PS gamers realized that they didn't have anything important to say; so the only time you're talking to someone, it's either your friend or you're part of a clan

However, with PSN being linked to Steam and integration between Dust514 and EVE online, it might change soon. If Sony pushes this further and we get good cross platform interaction between PC and PS3 for more games, then PSN wins.

i have both xbox 360 and ps3 along with most of my friends,
and i can easily say 360 is more fun.
PS3 online is slow, Glichy, and for the most part not enjoyable to play with strangers.
360 just seems to me to have a much smoother online, interface, and better community.
360 is easily worth the money i pay each year.

It all depends on who you play with, I can't really notice a difference in all honesty, interface is similar and will just come down to preference, like everything else.

These threads never really work out because people just vote for the console that they own, because God Forbid the competitor get one up on there beloved console!

When a lack of security is the reason for a service being out for a month it become a service issue. Though in truth it's a service issue from the get go.

The 360's is probably better, but the PS3's is cheaper, and I am a cheapskate. Besides, I think PSN is better because it works for PS3s which I think are better... Sort of biased really.

Each has its own share of assholes, so you can't argue that there are more kids on Xbox or whatever. I have an Xbox, PS3 and PC, and out of Xbox and PS3 I vote PS3, it's free and does the exact same thing Xbox does.

I choose secret option 3: PC.
Out of the two that you're actually asking about, I'd have to say PS3. Because it's free and I'm cheap. However, I hear that XBL is a better service apart from costing money.
