I'm sick of this argument. Everyone has their own opinion, but both are good in different ways. Personally, I like the PS3, but thats because I'm skint and my parents pay for the internet connection.

I'm going to say Xbox 360. But that is a biased response because I have never played a PS3 or been on their network.

I can't say I would want be with all that hacking going on. Yes Xbox Live can be hacked and has been hacked, but never in the scale of Sony and I don't think that is possible, only single accounts, but that is when the user has been stupid with there info.

I know what you are going to say, that you don't use debit or credit cards online, but you wouldn't have to buy 1000 and have some leftover if you bought points online.

Plus tax of course:
400 Microsoft Points - $4.99
800 Microsoft Points - $9.99
1600 Microsoft Points - $19.99
4000 Microsoft Points - $49.99
6000 Microsoft Points - $74.99

But sometimes it isn't to hard to spend 200 points on live. Well, you will have 40 points lift over which you will have to wait for another spare 40 to come along, but there are a lot of things that are 160 points. I with my last online purchase(leftover points wasn't avoidable with the bizarre amount of points I needed), I ended up with 160 points leftover.

There are many Indie games that can be bought with just 80 or 160 points. There are avatar items that can be purchased with that possibly two items. Also sometimes some game DLC is affordable with that. I hadn't intended to buy a gun pack for Mass Effect 2, but I noticed that the firepower pack was 160 points, so since I didn't want the points to sit there for months or more, I bought the gun pack and was pleasantly surprised how awesome it was. It contained the best assault rifle, shotgun, and pistol in the game. It was definitely worth spending the leftover points on.

Other times I do buy avatar items and themes and such with my leftover points. People just have to be open to buying things for their system other than game stuff. I never thought I would, but I actually haven regretted buying any non-gaming items on Live. They make the experience more than just a gaming experience.

The one thing I wish they would do make it so I could just by points in 80 point increments. You look at the make up of how much points cost 80 points is a dollar. I wish I could move a little counter and just by the dollar amount I want.

Depends on what you wanna do. If you just wanna play your video games online then you can't go wrong with PS3 since its free. But if you actually care for all that extra stuff Xbox Live offers, then I guess you can't really beat Xbox live.

Personally I prefer PS3 because its free. Compared to how much I play games online on my PC, I rarely play games online on my ps3. And paying $15 per month for something I don't use very much is kind of stupid.

I can understand the reasoning behind them not allowing you to buy points in tiny amounts such as $1. This is because of credit card charges, pretty much any purchase under $5 the credit card charges are far to high for it to be profitable.
Well they could allow it after that 5 dollar amount.

Like when I bought all the Mass Effect 2 DLC that I didn't have before playing it the first time. It came out to be 31 dollars in points, 2480. So I had to buy 1600, 800, and 400 points, and have 320 left over when I got what I intended to get. I ended up spending that on the firepower pack and some avatar items, but the point is that after that 5 dollar bottom, I could have added the points in 80 point increments and bought 31 dollars plus tax worth.

For me, first place is PC. Second place is PS3 (because it's free). Last place is Xbox 360, since it's paid, whereas they could easily survive making it a free service.

...although for the record I would have to go with the PC.

I wouldn't know since I don't have a PS3, but is 15 a month what PSN+ costs.

Because Xbox Live costs 60 dollars for a year(the better deal because it costs 5 bucks a month). Now if you buy just a month it is 10 dollars.

But still 10 dollars a month for everything is better than 15 for some extra stuff other than online play.

Its $49.99 ($4 a month) for PSN plus for 1 year, or $17.99 ($6 a month) for 3 months. You get access to free games (as long as you stay a active subscriber), 'huge' discounts on select games, dlc and other content available on the PSN, early access to demos and betas, full game trials (1 hour), and online storage for saves.

That being said, I'd only really make use of the free stuff, and the discounts on games/DLC. Though I suppose the early access stuff would be nice if they're doing a game you care for.

Well, tbh I don't know. When I had a 360 I had a different slower ISP so I have trouble connecting to my buddy 3 streets down, yet no trouble connecting to my other friend in New Brunswick. Last year when I bought a PS3 and also moved out I have a different ISP never a problem connecting to anything.

I will say that the PSN Store is much more organized and I find it much easier to find stuff.

EDIT: I would also like to say that I much prefer a real price on something rather than points. Example: Borderlands Robot Revolution - PSN Store: $9.99
- XBL Store: 800pts.

How much did I spend? 9.99 plus tax on PS3, or 1000MSpts (14.99) now I have 200 pts left over and I still have to pay more if I want something else!
Oh thank christ they stopped doing that shit. Now you buy points in increments of 400, 800, 1600, and so on. No more of that side-carnival economics bullshit.

I have all three and voted for XBL. PSN may be free, but as someone with lots of disposable income I don't care about five dollars a month for XBL. PSN is still awesome, don't get me wrong but it has more of a habit to be slow and glitchy and have matchmaking problems than XBL. I also prefer the UI on XBL better, but that comes down more to personal preference than it does anything.

My friend and I were arguing the other day. He said that PS3 had the better online because he didn't have to pay for it. I had to of course disagree Xbox has a better community and a better overall experience in my opinion.

What about you then friends? Which do you think has the better online?

xBox has a better community.......

ROFL!!

Then what was that 15 dollars a month you were talking about? I also saw somebody else say 15 a month as well. Because the only thing I have encountered online that is 15 bucks a month are MMOs.

Live has never been 15 dollars a month.

I've never bothered with the online gaming. XD But I like for my services to be free so I'm going with PS3. :3
