Picked up an Alto Sax instead, enjoying it a lot more (and it's so much easier), that was less than a year ago though. Never been much of a musician, and I don't practice too often (few times a week), hopefully in a couple of years I'll play decently ^^
(the 1st year was shared lessons)
The problem I had with the clarinet at an early age was that after I quit the school orchestra there really wasn't much to play on it. Basically just blues/jazz and back then I really didn't like jazz. So i stopped practicing for quite a while. Last year I decided to pick up music again, decided that I might as well start fresh.
Since I started playing saxophone though I've learned to like jazz a lot more, it's awesome to play ^^
Still, fun to see someone who plays a somewhat more "odd" instrument, and clarinet sounds really neat when you know how to play it.
