Poll: Which is Game Of The Year?

EDIT: REMINDER, This is who the community will pick, some objections have been fair but its not your favourite game, its 'the' game of the year everyone likes, overall, the most.

Just to be clear, this isn't the game you liked the most, but the game you think the community will overall agree is the best.

I like Skyrim, and I think it has an honest shot at GOTY, so that's got my vote.

Hopefully I have all the right options, I think any of these will likely be GOTY, but I did leave a space for other, so if there's heaps of posts asking for a particular game instead, I mucked it up, but otherwise enjoy!

I love Deus Ex: Human Revolution so i think it deserves a shot at GOTY apart from that other over hyped game.

As of right now, NHL 12 is my GOTY. But I have only played 6 games released in 2011 and only NHL 12, L.A. Noire, MW3, and LBP2 for more than 20 minutes.

Personal Game of the Year would be Dark Souls for me. Despite some difficulties in some areas (I don't think it was as hard as advertised, which is a good thing honestly. I like a challenge, but not frustratingly so) I found the whole game to be really fun and rewarding.

Edit: Ah, shit, didn't read the OP all the way through, my bad.

I'd probably say Skyrim. Even as someone who really didn't like Oblivion all that much, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Recognizable yes, influential no. Well at least I hope not lol. More color, less cover kthx.

TW2 is a little bit more than an obscure PC RPG btw.

My vote goes to Portal 2, but i'm sure the overwhelming winner in this forum will be Skyrim.

I'd go for Deus Ex:HR I had a lot of fun than with any other 2011 title... except Shadows of the Damned, but no way that game would qualify, with all that campiness... El Shaddai was great as well, but probably much people won't vote for it...

For me the obvious choice is Gears of War 3.

On the flip side though, I'm smart enough to know that Skyrim will win everything it's nominated for. I swear, that game could have been a smoldering pile of crap and it would be revered as a classic.

Odd list, unless you're asking for the PC game of the year only rather than overall game of the year. A distinct lack of the big console exclusives in the form of Gears 3, Skyward Sword and Uncharted 3.

I suspect Arkham City will get the nod. It's multiplatform and universally enjoyed by pretty much all levels of gamers be they casual or hardcore. You can't say the same about any other game on the list other than MW3 which I haven't played.

If this is PC game of the year...I think PC gamers will widely agree on Skyrim, with Portal 2 being the runner-up.

Even though i only have battlefeild 3 which is an excellent game i going to have to go with Skyrim or skyward sword in order to be realistic.
