Zoey. Reason being she was the first character I was randomly assigned as when I played for the first time. I'm a firm believer that the initial character you are given is the one you're meant to play as.

Plus her AI seems to like the hunting rifle, which is my weapon of choice, so it worked out.

That's a coincidence, my first randomly chosen character was Bill and i've been playing as him ever since. Strange how people do that.
Also...

I'm usually Zoe, because I only tend to play with my brother and friend, so there's usually a computer character, and when that computer character was Zoe, she always seemed to take the hunting rifle :/
Naturally, this wasn't cool, so I decided to be Zoe so the computer character would use a proper weapon!

Why the hate for the hunting rifle? If you can use it properly i've found it to be immense, especially against the Tank.

I normally just go for random but if I've gotta pick it would be Louis, my reason, as one of my mates pointed out to me, he wear's the same clothes as Shaun in Shaun of the Dead. Plus some of his line's are awesome.

Generally Louis.....I always go random, and regardless of if i'm playing with other people or alone, I always get Louis. Not sure why, but I was playing with 3 other people, and one of them picked Louis, leaving me with Zoey, but they got Zoey and I got Louis.....I think the game hates me.

1) Be an old guy? Hell no. I don't care if he seems to be the Father of Chuck Norris and the Bane of All Zombies, he's old and has old people smell.

2) I'm not female so Zoey is out.
