Gamestop clearly has the worst (sadly). I'm surprised a boycott hasn't started about Vegas. Aaaaannnnnnyyyyyywwwaaaaayyyyyyy, I wouldn't pre-order this game at all. Obsidian has proven that they are not worth the money to buy their low grade games.
do you think bethesda would ALLOW low quality games? no, they are pulling the ropes. if obsidian fails, its bethesda's fault.
The Publishers job is just maketing and funding. Bethesda is the Publisher not the dev. So if Obsidian screws up Bethesda's only issue was the MASSIVE was of money that the game will inevitably be.
unfortunately they said they are MONITORING their EVERY MOVE. hell every decision obsidian makes has to be OK'd by bethesda. bethesda has tight reigns.
Hmmm you mean like lucas arts did with KoTOR II?

Edit: I added the II because I acidentally said KoTOR instead.
different companies, different rules. lucas arts isnt the same as bethesda. unless george lucas buys bethesda, you counter argument is invalid.
Bethesda has cheaped out on a few game and I feel like they have a buisness straegy here. Obsidian make its crap, Bethesda makes Fallout 4 and makes it good. Obsidian is destroied and Bethesda is the Fallout savior of the land
bethesda wont save fallout. they destroyed it with fallout 3. you cant save what you raped.
You just contridicted yourself. You said that they would make sure that Vegas would be ok but then you said that they made Fallout 3 bad so how can they save the franchise that they slaughtered? awnser me that.

yes now we both know they have allowed sub par games pass though while being attached to as publishers. just because something is well known doesn't mean it wont suck.

actually i didnt. a good GAME is different from a GOOD SEQUEL. fallout 3 was a bad fallout sequel, but was a good game. context. its all around us.
Screw this, this thread is derailed due to this so lets get back on topic and agree to disagree.

* GameStop: Armored Vault 13 Suit, Vault 13 canteen, Weathered 10mm Pistol, 5 Stimpacks
* Amazon: Tribal Raiding Armor, Broad Machete, 5 Bleak Venom Doses, 10 Throwing Spears
* Steam/Walmart: Lightweight Leather Armor, Sturdy Caravan Shotgun, 4 Repair Kits, Binoculars
* Best Buy: Lightweight Metal Armor, Mercenary's Grenade Rifle, 3 Super Stimpacks, 3 Doctors Bags

GameStop has the best, I mean Vault 13 suit and canteen is enough for me, brings back the good old times (and I am not saying that these are bad times), why is GameStop best, you probably won't use any of that crap for long, and Vault 13 suit is awesome.

Steam one. Mainly because Steam is pretty much the only thing I get my PC games form.

Not to mention the canteen will keep you alive in Hardcore Mode, if I'm not mistaken.

It's the pack I'm getting; I was a little surprised to find out there were packs considering I pre-ordered this a long while back. And if the game is buggy, not a big deal thanks to the engine. I can always wait for an unofficial patch to roll along and fix it up for me.

Considering its being made basically out of the skeleton of Fallout 3, I have some hope it might turn out decently. However, the recent disaster that was Alpha Protocol still has me cautious.

And my decision for Pre-order is based less on bonuses but rather if I want to get it for PC or Xbox 360.

I'm wondering why most people on this thread are assuming that the game is going to suck? I've liked all of the fallout games so far - except for Tactics, which I never played.

As for the bonus of choice - I'll take Steam not because of what is is, but because that is where I'm buying it from.

I guess I wouldn't pre-order it at all since I haven't been sufficiently impressed by any of the trailers.

How is this a ploy for them to make money? If anything it will make some Ebay (and reasonable facimile) users a little richer but either you are going to buy the game or you aren't. Not to many people are going to run out and buy it because it has an in game preorder bonus. Even less (hopefully) are going to buy 3 different copies of the same game. And lets not forget those who will cancel the preorder once they get said code.

Its not that we assume the game is going to be bad because its a Fallout game; Fallout games have a rather good history of being fun and and at least decently-made.

Its that Obsidian Entertainment is making it, and they have a terrible history history of making buggy, broken and otherwise terrible games. Case-in-point: Alpha Protocol.

Meh. They've also made games that I've enjoyed. KOTOR II, and Neverwinter Nights II both come to mind...

Granted Alpha Protocol certainly seems flawed based on reviews I've seen. Luckily, in that case, I didn't pre-order it.

The Mercenary Pack from Best Buy is the one that sounded most appealing to me. I want the Collector's Edition though, and Best Buy is only offering the pre-orders bonuses for standard edition pre-orders.

EB it is.

It's because Obsidian is making it, they have a history of taking great games and making awful glitchy sequels with plots that disappear halfway through and adding nothing to the gameplay at all.

It is terribly flawed. Broken combat, bugs, glitches and otherwise all-round broken gameplay that shouldn't have made it past the first of QA, much less the final game. Add in bland graphics and story, an unlikable protagonist and yeah, it was pretty bad.

The only redeeming qualities it had were an interesting take the dialouge selection system, and several interesting and well-written characters.

I already pre-ordered at Gamestop, not because of the pre-order bonus but because it is the most convenient to me. Then again I pre-ordered it before the pre-order content was even announced.
