A forum discussion involved a poster wondering what order he should show his girlfriend the Star Wars movies. It basically came down to the order they were released versus numerical order. It appeared that opinion was strongly leaning to the order they were released because the newer ones sucked ass.

I concur with this opinion, however, it did make me wonder which of the prequel movies is the biggest abomination against humanity. So tell me which one you think is the worst and why.

I'd say that Episode 2 takes the cake for the worst. Which is strange, because I actually enjoy a lot more of it than I did Episode 1.

Episode 1 has maybe two or three scenes in it that I can enjoy, and the rest makes me bored.

In comparison, Episode 2 has tons of scenes that I fucking love, such as the entire plot with Obi Wan tracking down Jango Fett and the massive battle at the end. Those parts of the movie are fantastic and really well done. On their own, they would have made a kickass movie.

HOWEVER. The romance plot that takes up the majority of the time in Episode 2 is SO bad that it manages to blot out all light or awesome stuff that the rest of the movie is doing.

I'd have to say Episode 1.

Or Episode 1, NOW IN 3D which is just around the corner.

Episode 1 because it is the only one where the number of characters I can't stand outnumbers the number I can.

Episode One.

Because I went into it with expectations that it wouldn't be crap.

By the second and third, I knew better.

None, they weren't meant for you, they were meant for preteens, teens, and kids, and they sold more than you can imagine and the Clone Wars series is loved by them too.

Whether or not you agree is your prerogative but that's the fact proven by streams of incoming money.

I enjoyed all of them, I think I liked Revenge of the Sith the most, but I'd of cut out the ending scene because I didn't like how they did the battle.

I hate both Episode 1 and 2. Although, between the two, I'd 2 is the worst between them as it's pretty much just one long string of action sequences with almost no plot. While Episode 1 was quite shit too, at least they did something more than show of their special effects budget.

Only prequel movie I actually liked was Episode 3 which had its moments of really bad acting and overuse of the special effects budget, but the plot was fairly decent and it has some interesting moments leading into the original films.

---

One thing also needs to be kept in mind when watching the Star Wars movies is that if you've seen the prequel films already, it completely spoils the plot twists in the originals. So, I would say under absolutely no circumstance would I ever show someone the films in chronological order for the first time.

This is something that this person needs to think about is that Episode 1-3 will completely spoil the rest of the series if you watch them first.

Episode 1. That LITTLE FREAK'IN KID.....

Also Episode 3 is a decent flick. *Engage Flame Shield*

R2D2 set a bunch of people on fire, that makes the whole of Episode 3 watchable for me.General Grievous Vs. Obi-Wan was also Entertaining, although much too short.

Episode 2 is the worst by far. Episode 1 is actually pretty good if you ignore everything with Jar Jar and Anakin (a significant amount I'll admit).

And number 3 I actually, genuinely like. Not as much as the original trilogy, but it's a good movie in its own way.

Kids movie........

I would have went with schizophrenic and has no clue just who to cater the film to.

Sure I agree they are fine movies if you are 6 years old. However, to the best of my knowledge, the Escapist has a somewhat older crowd, so my question is geared to people who grew up with the first ones. However, I will take your opinion into account and not post these in a Nickelodeon or Justin Beiber forum.

I agree. It had its weaknesses and its issues, but a lot of elements (namely the tie-ins with the original trilogy and anything involving Ewan McGregor) worked really well.

i know they're of bad quality, i know some of the acting was bad, i know there are tons of plot holes, i know the romance is absolutely terrible, and i know jar jar is a complete waste of oxygen.

but god damnit, i love them all.

1 and 2 are just so unmemorable. They suck pretty equally so I'll just vote for 1. Episode 3 is actually a pretty good movie. I enjoyed it.

I saw that preview in the theater yesterday. If there is even a sliver of a doubt left as to whether or not George Lucas has completely lost touch with the Star Wars fanbase, it has been officially wiped away.

Episode 2, IMO.

This is probably being coloured by the fact that it's the one I've seen most recently, but it was also a lot worse than I remember it. Horrible, horrible dialog from start to end and the action set pieces really lose their impact quickly.

I agree, for all it's failings Episode 3 was actually a decent film. Sure it had its flaws; the acting was bad, the dialogue was worse, but the battle scenes were excellent, and the Order 66 scene actually showed a hint of emtion (although if we'd actually been given characters that we cared about and seen them die then it would have been a million times better) The big action set pieces were done just well enough to save the film.

The worst would have to be Episode 1. The plot was all over the place, the actoring was worthy of a Childrens Nativity Play and the setting and characters lacked any of that Star Wars charm the original trilogy had.
