They all suck, they always have, deal with it.
OT: You need an "all of the above" option.

It's a universe with 100's or even thousands of different races. There's going to be racism. In Sci-fi terms, humans are all a single race. Yet pretty much everyone has some form of racism. So it's hardly unbelievable that there's individuals that are racist in Star Wars.Kahunaburger said:Other than the racism, you mean?F4LL3N said:Btw, why does everyone hate Jar Jar? He's one of my favorite aliens.
What are you on about? Nobody is saying fantasy universes shouldn't depict racism in-universe. It's more about characters being designed around actual, IRL racist stereotypes.F4LL3N said:It's a universe with 100's or even thousands of different races. There's going to be racism. Same goes with Skyrim. People say the Nords are racist. Of course they are. Try living in a world where differences are more than just skin tone. We'd be at constant war even today, well, that's if human hadn't already wiped the other races out 1000 years ago simply for being different.
I agree with you, and the Order 66 scenes were some of the most emotional in all of Star WarsCobraX said:Episode 1. That LITTLE FREAK'IN KID.....
Also Episode 3 is a decent flick. *Engage Flame Shield*
R2D2 set a bunch of people on fire, that makes the whole of Episode 3 watchable for me.General Grievous Vs. Obi-Wan was also Entertaining, although much too short.
Indeed, infact the Empire is completely racist, non-humans were not allowed to hold positions of power. (unless they excelled far beyond their human counter parts.)Kahunaburger said:What are you on about? Nobody is saying fantasy universes shouldn't depict racism in-universe. So there's a difference? Could have fooled me. Because I would have thought there needs to be racism for racism to be depicted. Unless we're dealing with some sort of Inception concept.Kahunaburger said:What are you on about? Nobody is saying fantasy universes shouldn't depict racism in-universe. Do you understand the difference between filming a cheeseburger as part of your movie and eating a cheeseburger while directing your movie? Same concept.F4LL3N said:So there's a difference? How are you meant to have racism if no character is actually designed around it? Or how are you meant to have racism not designed around IRL stereotypes? Invent your own stereotype? How does that work? Should Jar Jar have instinctively released a poisonious cloud of toxic gas every time he sees a species he doesn't like?
You've completely lost me. I still don't understand why half the internet hates Jar Jar because he was somehow designed around the KKK or Nazi's or what ever you'd consider "IRL racist stereotypes".
Now you're going full hektic on me. Are you suggesting George Lucas created the entire multi-billion dollar Star Wars franchise in order to release racial frustration he developed as a child through the character Jar Jar Binks?Kahunaburger said:Do you understand the difference between filming a cheeseburger as part of your movie and eating a cheeseburger while directing your movie? Honestly, I agree.CobraX said:Also Episode 3 is a decent flick. *Engage Flame Shield*
I doubt the stereotypical characters were written that way consciously.F4LL3N said:Now you're going full hektic on me. Are you 'punking' me? Where's the camera's, Mr?
