Poll: Which PS2 game should I get?

Go for Burnout 3, Ratchet and clanks and if you like the basketball go for NBA Street Vol.2

Oh man, I totally forgot about NBA Street. I don't even like basketball (let alone mainstream sports in general), but I found Street to be loads of fun.

While we're on the topic of surprisingly fun sports related games, I'd also recommend SSX Tricky and/or SSX 3, as well as the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series.

If you want good writing, it's hard to beat Psychonauts.

If you like quirky/silly games, We Love Katamari is a great pick.

Of course, don't neglect the PS1 library. Final Fantasty Tactics, Spyro the Dragon, and Tenchu are the first games that pop into mind.

Ratchet and Clank going commando, Sly Cooper and the thieviuss racoonus, war of the monsters, and Okami are the best games for the PS2.

Let's just say that Sands of Time is one of Yahtzee's favourite games for a reason. I went into that game expecting something quite naff (it came free with a £40 PS2...) and I got many happy hours of platforming fun. There's about an hour of controller-hurling hatred in there as well, but that's mostly toward the end and it'll be over pretty quick if you just take it slow and be careful.

Plus, the ending was godly. Short, sweet and laugh-out-loud brilliant. It really is a masterfully written game.

The whole Jak and Dextar series no one should miss such a amazing adventure numer one was a game that you wanted to play from start to finish and keep playing ! number 2 was a game that completely went in a total new direction whihc made this game even more badass !

and number 3 was a mix of 1 and 2 creating a beautiful blend

seriously go get this serires and play the hell out of them !

also try out Jak X:Combat Racing this has probaly got to be one of the best racing games by the fun factor it can easily rival Burnout

Ok, what you do, is you get every Jak game, shouldn't be too expensive, complete them.
Next on your list should be Ratchet and Clank series.
Then Kingdom Hearts, I know it's not on your list but i don't care it's the best series EVAR.
