I could definitely see Firefly turned into a KOTOR/Mass Effect style RPG... and ME's 3PS combat system (or maybe Fallout 3's, we'll see) would really capture the spirit of the show.
Oh god. Mass Effect's branching storyline and decision-making coupled with Firefly's razor-sharp dialogue... ugh... UUURRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!

Crap, that was my last pair of clean underwear. Eh, still worth it.

The universe from Hitchhikers Guide to the galaxy. Fighting the immense armies of Krikkit would be amazing.
For the love of god guys, get on this!

Yeah, Mass Effect with a coat of Firefly paint would be pants-wettingly brilliant. I'd walk a mile on broken glass to a pub where Mike Tyson was drinking and headbutt him right in the face to get such a game.

A reinvention of the old Lucasarts SCUMM system to do the continuing ADVENTURES of the Futurama universe.

I voted for 40K. With actual writers delving past the fiction based around the idea of keeping a table top game running, I think you could pan out various elements under each faction and create most modern sci-fi movies using the universe.

Plus, it could lend itself to an epic final battle scene larger than anything in the Lord of the Rings... or a Lord of the Rings scale epic battle with Serenity style space conflicts (which, I feel, is one of the best space battle scenes I have seen).

Imagine a simple Space marine and Gaurd units fighting against space orks and nids only to have the sheer terror of Chaos showing up for only one reason... to Lure the necrons to the world. At least in my mind, in story base, the Necrons and the Nids would be the scariest since the demons and undead want nothing more than complete obliteration with no form of heirarchy or order. Just flat out eradication.

It would be hard, but maybe an awesome trilogy :D

Imagine Age of reckoning but with more races and tanks.

W40K could rule, as long as it didnt go too hard like Tabula Rasa think mass effect meets W40K meets ability to be any race online.

"other"

Specifically Mass Effect (hey, you didn't say it couldn't already be a game of that universe...)

although if i had to choose one of the alternatives you put up, then i would probably choose warhammer 40k

Definetly Firefly/Serenity. I met Nathan Fillion last May where I told him about a Firefly game idea I'd had - he liked it, and he told me about how when Serenity was coming out, they all went up to E3 (apparently, their editor Lisa Lassek is a big gamer), but, sadly, it was decided that the fanbase wasn't large enough to warrant a game.

For those curious, my idea was to have a tactical squad-based TPS game set in the Unification War that would explicitly chronicle Mal and Zoe's experiences throughout it.

We've already seen what 40k can do with the stratagy genre (which isn't suprising seeing that it is a game based around a tabletop stratagy game) but I'm certain that they could get an FPS down if they did it right (Fire Warrior did make quite a few mistakes), it would be a pretty memorable experience to wade into a derilict spacecraft as a power armored space marine and gun down 50+ shambleing diseased and demonic abominations with the exploisive machinegun of doom.

On your list I would say BSG. It is the best thing to happen to TV since MASH. Don't get me wrong, I think Firefly is awesome, but it was never given a chance. If it had gone 4 seasons, I might say the same thing about it.

But I would really like to see and RPG like Oblivion based on the Dune Series, specifically the first 3 books, when Dune is still a desert and worms are everywhere and Fremen are the ultimate badasses.

I was going to say star trek but it's been done a lot already, never very well though they just need to make it in a KOTOR style but allow you to purchase bigger and better ships and customise them also.

I think Farscape is deserving I mean being the best Sci-Fi ever and all.

Firefly can go burn in hell. God I wish that show never came into existence and took over Dark Angel's time slot just when DA was getting good. I don't think I would mind a Farscape game even though I think it would be cool to have a Dark Angel beat em up type game. I really want an exo squad game though.

The Firefly movie was shit, but I didn't mind the series. Not really deserving of a game though.

Babylon 5 universe has a lot of potential for an RTS game. Also since there is already a ton of different factions/races it also has the potential for a Political/Economic aspect as well. Thinking a mix of Starwars empires at war, and Sins of a solar empire, wth a bit of Civ4 on the production/diplomatic aspect.

BSG: First person space shooter game, with the potential of moving up the ranks and taking over the fleet. Although from the First person aspect it might be better to do stage the game during the first human/cylon war, as it'll open the game up to large fleet battles along with many more combat focused ships.

Firefly: Mass effect style RPG with some sort of space combat (ST: bridge commander?) The 'verse has so many possibilities and charecters that have never been fully developed by the TV series. There is alot of potential.

I think an up to date Aliens game would be great. fortunately, there's one on the way.

Sounds great too. I've been dying for a good Co-Op FPS game to play with my buddy.

I think a third person shooter set in the Warhammer 40K universe with a space marine as the main character would be nice. A third person view would give a good balance between melee attacks and ranged combat, which is a key focus of space marines; they excel at all battlefield roles. A good mix of weaker enemies and stronger enemies would be nice, along with competent support characters.

Maybe a touch of squad control would be nice, but not if it turns out your squad have to be mentally retarded; lone hero gameplay would work well, but so would tactical gameplay to defeat much larger enemies.

Yes, I know I'm asking too much but I'm pretty much dreaming now.
