Looking back, I've been playing co-op for a long time. (I've gone from playing as Tails to P-Body, The Siren to Joanna Dark's Never-Mentioned-Again sister). Who do you play with nowadays? How has it changed over the years? Do you like having a headset on so you can hang out with someone new, or would you rather punch player 2 in the arm?

Is nobody an acceptable answer? I usually don't play co-op games. To be honest, I think there are too many games putting an emphasis on multiplayer and co-op. But, any time that I do, it's usually with my best friend.

I usually co-op with my friend I met in real life. Though my brother likes to play war in the north.

I've played co-op over the course of several sessions with my friends, when one of us goes to visit the other. Never really cared for the online co-op, though I have done the last mission of Halo 3 in 4-Player co-op with my friends, just so we got the achievement. xD

I only play co-op online since I don't know any other gamers IRL. I would love to punch them in the arm though >.>

I don't know any other gamers, well, at least none who are into the same games I am.

So if I do co-op it's usually with random pubbies.

Can actually work out surprisingly well, depending on the game.

I prefer to play with a friend, in person and towards a common goal. I don't like fighting or sports games, I like co-op where we're on a mission together not go against each other head to head.

And I don't like online multiplayers, especially if it's competitive. I could get on board an online multiplayer if I could play with my friend (co-op) in the same room. I'm sure we could get a good laugh out of that. But anything other than that, I have no interest in.

Increasing distances means my coop is mostly done online nowadays :(

I remember fondly the olden days where I'd invite friends over/be invited over for some gaming sessions but sadly that is no longer a reality (my old gaming buddies scattered to the 4 corners of the world.). So yey for coop gaming online.

I usually get my friend to come over every so often to play a bit of co-op and talk about our personal stuff. It's getting increasingly difficult now that he moved up north and only comes down on rare occasions. Other than that, I sometimes play some co-op with my room mate. It's fun but we don't really discuss our personal lives due to the fact that we haven't reached that level of friendship yet.

My brother and I used to kick some serious ass together.
Be it levelling a hunter and soldier to max in Borderlands, gunning down infected freaks in Resident Evil 5 or hunting massive beasts in Monster Hunter, we were a force to be reckoned with.

No one... because no one wants to spend enough time with me... in person or over the internet to really play anything...<.<

I always have found it a bit sad with the current gen consoles how many games will only allow you to play co-op online, I always love going over to a friends house and playing a good co-op multiplayer game like Tales of Vesperia, but it seems that with online multiplayer a lot of games are giving up on single console multiplayer.

In person friends ideally, but splitscreen games are few and far between these days and theres the added hassle of organizing it.

I also don't mind playing with online friends.. I just can't stand random public games, especially when the other person doesn't have a microphone or has one and doesn't use the damn thing, it annoys the hell out of me.

I usually play with a friend or two. I can't stand the thought of playing with pubbies. Good god I've had horrible experiences with that.

I almost exclusively play with people I actually know for co-op play. It's usually more fun and since we know our strengths and weaknesses in any given game, we're more effective for it.
