Poll: Who do you co-op with?

I usually co-op with a RL friend over Steam(using teamspeak for maximum screaming and sh*t-shooting), we have some internet-buddies we lop in as well. Sometimes I can wrangle the fiancée into some split-screen, but she's not very impressed by playing on the PC.

It occurs to me that we should start a "find a co-op friend"-thread here on the forums for the ones without co-op buddies who want to get in on the action.

A friend and I played the crap out of resident evil 5. I don't care much for online matchmaking, even in a co-op mode, so it's local all the way. Except for Journey, that was pretty awesome.

Of course, now I live in South Korea, so I have no co-op partner. I brought my DS and a PS2 that I can't play yet. (Need a converter, different voltage).

I have 1 "in person" friend who plays the same games as I do, and then I have a few online friends.

Girlfriend for Split-screen stuff like Fear 3 and the like. Whole group of RL friends for online stuff like Left4Dead. So, I consider myself pretty lucky. ^^ Too bad there's less and less co-op games, though.

When I was in 2nd grade, I met a kid, and we've been smashing co-op games since then. I'm 25 now. We don't have to communicate when we play anymore. We both just know how the other person plays. It's great.

Normally I either co-op with my girlfriend or if a friends around then they'll get roped into it. More often than not though I just play online with a headset with some buddies - we can play from the comfort of our own homes and play till we're shattered. If they're round my house or vice versa then we typically have to stop sooner to give people time to get home safely and stuff.

But i regularly play some games with my roommate and my friends.

I co-op online with my friends from school. Mostly L4D2, sometimes Magicka and TF2 and I might get into DayZ with some of them some day. On an extremely rare case I play something in split-screen co-op with my brother.

I've co-op'ed with Sibling, Online friends, In person friends, Roommates and A random pubbie (assumning this means whoever you run into whilst gaming online).

Most often though it's my roommate, who is also an 'in person friend'

I don't really. Me and my friend used to set up our xboxs via LAN, but he moved to Spain and I don't know anyone else who plays PC games (at least games that aren't facebook related). I try to show my Dad some stuff he might be interested in from time to time, since he used to be into his stratergy games, but his PC only has an onboard graphics card and it limits what he can try out.

As for playing public games, that depends a lot on the game. I've never really hit it of with anyone I've played with before and most games I join are just exercises in silence with the rare bit of text popping up. It makes most public games only suitable for purely competetive gameplay (which I tend to find stressful and rarely enjoy), while missing the essence of what it should be when playing a co-op or sandbox game.

In all I just tend to stick to playing single player stuff where I can dick around and have fun, while my occasional forays into multiplayer usually fall flat and leave me feeling bad like there's something wrong with me for not "getting it". /forever alone

I've co-op played Fable III with my fiancée. Our heroes got married and had a kid who was inexplicably black. I jokingly gave her a distrustful look.

I've played through several test runs on Portal 2 co-op with my dad. That's fun considering that we shout back and forth between our computer rooms.

I don't really play co-op anymore. Some friends and I once system-linked our Xbox's and played Gears 1 and 2, but other than that I've never really done it. Growing up all my friends were too far away or never around, so by the time online multiplayer came out, I was so used to playing alone

This has pretty much my case. Even now.

Used to play a ton of Left 4 Dead and some Call of Duty with my cousin. Hell, MW2 was only bearable because of him.

These days, people I know at my school are more multiplayer than co-op people or like nothing else but Call of Duty.

My sister - we've always done it together. Nice now that we share a house, too. Make dinner, clean up, and settle in to play for the evening. We usually want to do the same things, so it's all good.
