Germans FTW. I'm not German, but I love playing as them. Probably because they are the "evil" faction.
And they have the coolest toys!

My dream is that someday theyll make a Wolfenstein game that will let you play a campaign as a german soldier.

Well I'm English so I voted British. However, my favourite fraction has to be 1/3, it's just awesome :D
LIES!
4/6 can kick 1/3rds ass any day.

And...
In WW2, the Swedes apparently had James Bond type agents.
So, if there is a game with those, I vote for them.

Otherwise Britain.
I'm more of a 7/8 person myself...

On a more serious note, I actually haven't played many WWII games.

The Germans - criminally absent in this poll - but you'll never see them in an FPS because there'd be too much controversy.

Six Days in Fallujah in a different time setting.

I'm going to say America, mainly because I like the F4U1 Corsair and P-40 alot more than I like the Spitfire and Hurricane.

Wo sind mein Deutsche? The Germans had all the best shit. (I know that's an exageration but still...) The Germans made the first assualt rifle: the MP44. The Germans had some of the best tanks in the war. I believe the Germans were the first to have jet planes. Americans make the bazooka, the Germans one-up them and make the Panzerschreck AND Panzerfaust. Even though the Germans lost, it was mainly because they were taking on THE WHOLE FUCKING WORLD! The Germans by far had the best quality troops but in the end they lost because the Allies had a large quantity of troops. If I had to choose between the Allies I would choose the Russians. They put out fires with the bodies of their dead! For the Rodina!

From 1942 onwards the Germans fielded the Panzer V (Panther) which was specifically designed to counter the T-34, and did it rather well. This was followed by the Panzer VI (Tiger), which was pretty pwnd anything the allies (western or soviet) could throw at it.
You got them mixed up. The Panzer V was the Tiger, the Panzer IV was the Panther. Then of course there was the over-the-top KONIGSTIGER! that were made as a heavy tank at the end of the war. The Russians did have the second best tanks though.

Really the Russians had the best overall tanks. They were relatively cheap to produce, well armored, well armed, and reliable. You get your money's worth with the T-34

On topic, 6/3rds is the best fraction in WWII. (thats 2 for the 6/2's out of 10 that dont understand top heavy fractions)
They were in cod 3
Was the White flag your primary weapon? i never played COD 3.

Afraid not old chap! I've played Combat Mission waaay too many times not to know the difference ;-)

This was the first set of links (apart from Wiki, which we all know should never be used to prove anything) that I found.

Still doesn't change the fact you wouldn't want to come toe-to-toe with either of them in a ranged shooting match, or even up close without having them outnumbered as-many-as-possible-to-one!

My favourite fraction is 7/8.

Well I'm English so my favourite faction is England!
The Germans seem to have the best guns though.
You seem to be disregarding Scotland, Whales, Ireland and the rest of the U.K. England isn't a faction of World War 2 due to the fact that it was the British army not the English army.

Gief independance nows plox kk.(skirt wearer here eh ;) )
Oops sorry bout that, I just said I'm English and automatically said England for the next bit. I meant to say Britain :p

Also, Scotland rules.

Yeah they could be pumped out quicker than the complex Panzers, but that doesn't mean they're better. I mean the Sherman did so well in the war because it was easy to mass-produce and easy to repair. That's about it. Not to say that the Russian tanks weren't good. The armoured monstrosity the Germans and Russians were throwing at each other could have easily turned any other country's tanks into giant bonfires.

Well I appears that you are right. I stand corrected. It's just that I could have sworn that it was the other way around. Perhaps I ought to look it up myself. And I do agree with you on the quality of both tanks. They were easily some of the best in the entire war.

Edit: Yeah, you're definately right on that. Went and looked it up myself not that long ago. Must have gotten them mixed up in my head some time ago. (the numbering that is)

Like I said - waaaaaaay too much time playing Combat Mission =D (incidentally, a fantastic game to try and get hold of for people who like their WW2 in flavours other than FPS. It's showing it's age now but still one of the deepest and most rewarding tactical combat games I have ever encountered. With playable Germans too for all your Panzering needs).
