What the hell is "a life", and why does it matter who's having more fun out of two people who enjoy their hobbies?

Well I'm sure here on the escapist forums we all agree that celebrity fanatics have less of life, but then again, this a game forum............

I clicked the wrong button.

I clicked MMO players, but I meant Celebrity Fanatics.

In an MMO you can derive enjoyment, pleasure, and excitement out of it.

I honestly can't see any excitement over finding out something about somebody else.

Celebrities aren't even that important. So what if they are actors? Does that mean they're somehow greater than other people? No, they just get on a set for a few months, act, then collect money. After that, they live their lives.

MMOs aren't important either, but at least your accomplishing SOMETHING. Even if it is insignificant compared to something like learning more about some subject or another.

People have died sitting in their chairs playing WoW, MMO's win this easily.
Haven't people murdered because they were celeb obsessed?
True, the guy that shot Dimebag Daryll makes the celeb-obsessed win this thread.

I see it this way:
A man jumps off of a bridge. He falls 200 feet and dies upon impact. Another man was hit by a car. He suffered massive hemorrhaging in his brain and dies within seconds. Who is more dead?

really, it all depends. no matter how much of a hardcore MMO player of celebrity fanatic you are, f you meet a fellow hardcore MMO player or celeb fanatic, you will talk about our respective interests, therefor gaining a life...mostly, ish type thing if you know what i mean (sorry about that last part but i really didn't know how else to put it)

MMO players - at least Celebrity fans get outside and have actual contact, even if it's 'just' gossip with other people.

Completely obsessed gamers ruin their own lives.

Completely obsessed celebrity fanatics ruin their own lives and the celebrities life.

Also if your playing an MMO atleast your virtually interacting with other people.

Also MMo is cheaper because your dont need to buy plane/gig/whatever tickets for every one of their events.

Spending your time staring at pixels on a screen is alot less creepy than spending all your time starting at a person or pictures of a person aswell.

As for who has more life i'd say the complete extremes of both are probably equally lifeless.

Without DOUBT....Celeb fanatics!
Who cares about what Celebs do with their pathetic, superficial lives?
Thank you for taking the words right out of my mouth.
That fecking thief.

At least MMO players get interaction, and don't come off as damn stalkers.

celebrity fanatics because MMO's have at least some reward. Knowing everything about a celebrity will never NEVER affect your life unless you are on jeapordy and theres a category all about that celebrity and that will never happen

MMO players have a little bit more to show for it than fanatics... who just have their creepiness.

Your kidding right? Well at least they led a good second life.

Anyway, I would believe that choosing between the two is like choosing between round pancake and an only slightly round pancake, this bit a news (if true) would lead me to believe otherwise.
