I've actually only played about 10 seconds of the series, in Fallout 2, and realized I hated the game. I'd like to play Fallout 3, though.

I've only played 3, I'll admit to it, although some people think it's a cardinal sin. I loved Fallout 3, and after looking at screens of 1, 2 and tactics, I don't really have any interest in getting them, even off steam.
Why's that? Because of the graphics? Because that's a stupid reason.
Partially (Graphics are important to me whilst playing a game, for example I won't play 13 or Dragon Quest, or Valkira Chronicles because I can't stand that type of graphic set-up), I do play some old games (Dynasty Tactics 2, Final Fantasy 7 & 8) so it's not just that, it doesn't look as fun or as immersive as Fallout 3

I've played all of the fallout games, and in order, but that was more through the simple flow of time than anything else. They're a blast, but on simple spectacle they cannot compete with 3. How could they? They're still fantastic though. Well actually I didn't get on with 2 at all. But 1 was great, and I recommend it to everyone, as long as they remember it was released in roughly 1995. :p

I played Fallout 3 first.

I borrowed Fallout 2 from my friend and I'm trying to get into it. It's pretty cool.

I tried to, but I think that this new age of graphics and whatnot has corrupted my gaming spirit in that I can't play games that weren't made within a 3 year period from now time.

*sigh* i have a mac, so I can't. but Bioshock coming out for the Mac has got my hopes up that Bethseda and/or Obsidian (if they're doing New Vegas or not.) will make it Mac compatible.

I tried Fallout 1, haven't finished it, didn't like it.

Some of my complaints:

The start is just crap - you get a brief cinematic telling you to go get the McGuffin [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MacGuffin] and then you're dumped into a dreary tunnel full of hostile rats. WTF, I don't even get to interact with anybody in the vault before I leave? I don't even know the people I'm fighting for?

The combat is dull.

Looks dull and bland, not much detail (yeah, yeah it was made in 1995 though).

The quests I did weren't all that great. For example, I went to Junktown, and did the quest where I got rid of the mob boss by getting him to hire me to kill someone else and then ratting him out to the cops who then get me to help kill him. OK. Then I went to the Hub and met another mob boss and basically the same damn situation happens all over again. The second guy even mentions hearing about what I did in Junktown even as he tries to get me to assassinate someone! What the hell?

Throwing in Monty Python references is not good comic writing - it's derivative and unfunny.

I've played Fallout 1 and Fallout 3. Fallout 3 had overall more enjoyable gameplay and Fallout 1 nailed the atmosphere of nuclear wasteland, but Fallout 3 was close in that regard.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 more, but Fallout 1 had better roleplaying aspects, like, your skills matter in EVERYTHING and all your choices matter. in fallout 3, if you nuke Megaton, you'll be lucky if someone mentions it to you.

So, in future fallout games:
-Make moral choices (acttually) matter
-Make stats matter
-Bring back the reputation system
-Better AI
-Better graphics, physics and larger map.

I tried and tried, but I can't play a game where the camera is in the ceiling looking down.

I played Fallout 1 and 2 when they came out, and I absolutely love them! I never played Fallout 3 though. If anyone is interested, you can get both titles (and the Fallout turn-based game) on GOG.com [http://www.gog.com/en/search/sort/search/fallout] for only $5.99.

Fallout in 2001, out of a bargain bin when buying AOE2:The Conquerors for $5.

Fallout a couple of months later, for $15.

Borrowed Fallout tactics in 2004 from a history teacher at school, bought my own copy in 2007 and finally finished it.

Fallout 3 2008 after finishing my last exam.

Fallout was good and Fallout 2 was even better and was in places a genuinely funny game, so whilst Fallout 3 is a good game, its not as good as the second one

I've played all Fallout games except the Brotherhood of Steel console one. I enjoyed Tactics, though 2 is still my favorite of the bunch.

I played all of them when they came out. Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics. I was also a moderator on the old Black Isle Fallout boards. I loved the old games, but I also love Fallout 3.

Played all. There's big flaws in all the games, but I still love them for the things they do right.
